Nice work. As a decient backyard auto body guy myself ...can you tell me what kind of primer you use, what kind of paint do you use ? Do you like the 2k epoxy primer ? And do you prefer block sanding? (the curved body lines of the 356 everything has to flow . I’ve done all my sheet metal work ( welding) and now I’m about to start my body work Can I ask ; what type of rust killer, ( ospho, etc) did you use ? And did you do the “ led tinning” tgat the factory did? Or did you use modern type body filler? I have rust creeping through the old primer and paint . So what do you use to kill this type of rust . I hope you might find a 1966 Volvo P1800S in automatic transmission version. You must fully restore them making sure they last 3.2 million miles even if you rebuild the engine and carburetor every 900,000 miles.

Great colour. I painted my P1800 in what seems to be the exact same colour in 1981. “Candy Apple Cherry Red” if I remember correctly. I’m considering doing an ES restomod now.
Fabulous restoration. I am also really pleased the trim was not replaced. I know many people with the interest and money to build a collection insist great leather with virtually no visible wear is removed and new materials are used.

A great video of the masters at work, having done it myself I appreciate the skills involved, well done. One criticism though, the filming is rather amateurish, too much flashing from one image to the next, it was very difficult to follow, and annoying, you should have focused longer on each shot.
I feel your pain !!!! getting them panel gaps correct , i'm a general bodywork man and painter and have spent hours doing this type off stuff for 47 yrs . Your doig a great job 👍
Kudos to you on the car. It brings back memories of my 1965 P1800 that I did in the early 80’s in what seems to be exactly that same colour. It was not 100% original and I suppose a restomod in today’s terms. Looking to get a P1800ES and do a proper restomod in next couple of years.
