hello Frank just curious if you still have the sharpener for the quiet head powermatic planer.

Absolutely beautiful 😍 The only suggestion I would make would be to maybe have a solid rim at the top, giving the chaos a boundary, or even a double/triple colour stripe. Thank you for sharing your thought process with us 🤗👍☺️

Might have to make some of those calipers, worth noting you could just mark the dimensions after putting them together

Thank you for making this video. I was looking for workshop size suggestions when I ran across a suggestion to check out your woodshop construction video...just a beautiful design btw, I'm a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and your shop reminds me of his work. I'm in the planning stages of building my woodshop/workshop and this video is extremely helpful. You've helped me to think about things I hadn't considered. I'll be building it myself and I'm only going to get one chance to get it right, don't want to be cramped. ...Oh, and I love the video effects.

I have had huge success at boiling my pieces to accelerate drying. It will take drying time to to weeks to a few months. I also like to use Pentacryl. I have had far more luck with it than with Anchor seal. This is for the turning pieces, obviously not for the slabs.

Has there ever been a thought where - even with a knot or crack in the wood, you just continue to turn the bowl and leave it in there? Assuming the crack isn't that big where it is bad for the structure of the bowl, that is

Got to tell you, that cherry will darken up almost as dark as the walnut. It will take 15, 20 years, but it will happen. Other than that, it’s a nice bowl.

To prevent the pieces from sliding around as you glue and clamp them up, put some salt on the glue joint. The salt has enough sharp points to bite into the pieces to keep them from sliding around. I learned that from Steve Wilson, the shaker oval box maker here in Michigan. Sadly, he passed away early last year.

Probably from watching your videos for many years now: once I saw the shape of the bowl I immediately intuited the fix (like anyone would need to be clairvoyant to do that) and I thought about calipers to check the side thickness, then you did it! You making calipers never occured to me and I don't know why not.

You could put some table salt on your glue joints to stop them from sliding around. And the sale will dissolve a little as the glue dries, saving blades and such. You could use a little sand if you want, but that could hurt blades.
