My name is Jay Tilles. Truck Show Podcast listeners know me as Lightning, a nickname given to me at KROQ-FM. During the day I'm the Brand Manager at Banks Power, an innovator of high-performance parts for gas and diesel vehicles.
Woke agenda! 🤮 Oh I bet it’s because Kevin is too white for whatever they want to turn KROQ into. In fact, the people in charge likely consider everything about the old KROQ too white, and therefore worthy of being dismantled. 🤮
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Wilwood Engineering, and I must say, their customer service is beyond terrible. After spending $4,000 on a product that was supposed to offer me security, I found myself dealing with a string of issues that no "regular Joe" should have to endure. Firstly, the product itself started showing problems far too soon. Despite not using it for racing or any other heavy-duty purpose, it failed, leaving me stranded and frustrated. My truck, which is the heart of my business, has been down for over a week, costing me significant amounts of money. Wilwood Engineering knows this, yet they continue to deflect responsibility and fail to take ownership of their faulty product. When I reached out for assistance, I was met with delays and excuses. Their representative told me to expect another 2-3 weeks of waiting, which is simply unacceptable. Even worse, the only way they'd expedite the service was if I agreed to cover the labor costs myself-adding insult to injury after already investing so much money. I made it clear that every day this issue remained unresolved, I would be voicing my dissatisfaction online. Despite this, their responses were indifferent at best. It could still be a month before they make it right, if they even do at all. In summary, Wilwood Engineering has not only failed to provide a reliable product but also demonstrated an alarming lack of regard for their customers. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your automotive needs. This company does not stand behind their products or their customers.
I grew up in Lakewood, CA. Graduated HS in 1980. I started listening to KROQ full time after the Mighty Met-KMET went Spanish. The thing that pissed me off to no end was how scalpers made buying face-value concert ticket purchases nonexistent in LA. The only way to get a ticket was 1-Win them or 2- Bend over and get fucked by scalpers. I now live in Oregon with fresh air, blue skies and concert videos on RU-vid. Fuck the scalpers to HELL!!! There really is a special place in hell for people who make money by producing nothing and fucking people for a living. People who buy scalped tix only encourages this behavior. It's like buying dope from a guy who sells tainted dope!
The question here is not about the looks but performance. How do they perform? Will they be better than the original for a truck with a trailer? That is the question.
I bought kit # 76239-01A for a 2023 Ram 3500 crew cab and read instructions several times and went through the parts list before the install and they still bind up, I also called tech support and went to there URL problem solver witch was very unhelpful I also have a 2018 F250 Lariat they work great so something is going on please advise AMP is a good product thats why I spent the extra money like 2000.00 bucks just for the boards on the Ram... and there still acting kinda embarrassing when people can't get out the truck, and Kingfish65@
HUGE benefit. I had the same set of TX6R brakes on my 10,000 dually and they trimmed 60--0 stopping distance by 11 feet. That may not sound like much but that's half the length of truck.
I left LA in 2005 and I spent every weekday morning listening to K&B when I lived there. I had no idea that all this went down, and I’m sitting here getting choked up listening to this.
Literally finally broke down and joined Twitter because of this to throw my temper tantrum. (Then never used it again) This was a gut punch. And it came if I remember correctly right as the covid lock down started. Show was falling off to be fair. But was still the only reason to listen to kroq before switching back to 98.7. Never listened to KROQ after this
@Jay Tilles I have the same kit on mine and brakes shake like crazy, tried new rotors/hats and same thing - any issues you've experienced with this kit yet?
I feel like no one fought to stop them getting rid of Lisa May, no one fought to stop them letting Ralph go and this was inevitable given Bean's departure. Jensen was the death knell though, it's almost better that it ended than went on with him.
When I heard this I immediately stopped listening to KROQ. Worst move they made. No respect for this station. Then they had the audacity to have security escort him from the station after this broadcast.
We moved to Oregon in 2016 and did not realize KROQ had gone down the toilet. I suppose it was inevitable with the decline of mainstream rock. KROQ provided music as the backdrop to my family's lives from 1998 to 2016. Kevin and Bean made us fall in love with RATM, Tool, and so many more. We attended numerous Weenie Roasts. SoCal is a poorer place now.
Stock TRX brakes suck! Big miss on Ram, not that a 100k truck doesnt have enough profit margin to have some decent stopping power of a 6000lb truck with 700hp. I warped my rotors in first 15k miles, upgraded slightly with ebc pads as only options available at the time were the roterra’$$$.
End of an era. We moved out of LA in 2001 and we still managed to catch the show on the regular via a friend's bootleg stream and then the official podcast. Loved the show. K&B and the whole crew deserved so much better than the way a corporate shit show seems to run things. Glad Ralph landed on his feet and Bean working with Alie on his podcast. Kevin is at another station in LA last I heard. FUCK KROQ. Will never listen to them again even over the internet.
Man I want these for my TRX. Where do you usually go to take your TRX off road in the desert? I’m right in the San Dimas area. Where would you recommend I can take the truck and really feel its capabilities off road?
Those black calipers look great behind those wheels! I kinda wish Ram would have offered some painted calipers from the factory! Huge performance truck with meh looking brakes!
Great video! I cannot wait for my TRX to arrive later this year. What size rims and tires do you need to get the Wilwood brakes? Do they come in any other color? Finally Wilwood brakes!
Check the link in the description, says 20" minimum. My truck comes in this week and I want bigger brakes but not willing to go up to a 20 personally. Guess I'll deal with the stockers.
