Great you bring up the subject. It’s so difficult at a person with cancer. There are so many camps of marketing, institutional “standards of care”, and decades of overwhelming amounts of information, that by the time a decision of going left or right is necessary, there is not clear way forward. Just, choose your straw.
I lived with pain for years but wasn’t diagnosed till a trainee radiologist was looking at my kidney scans, I have Polycystic kidney disease, then the Cafe spots were noticed, I'm adopted with Irish/Egyptian roots. Was diagnosed in my 40s'.
My aunts MDS is having results from Dacagen (Decitabine) positively HOWEVER, her ferritin baseline was never established tho I see it was 85 before transfusions. She went from 1090 to 1254 in a week (July 8) & hasn't had a transfusion since April 28. Now this weeks labs they didn't check it & dont want to. The problem is her oncology doesn't want to do regular ferritin weekly, as we as a family feels needs to done. The lowest she's been since November 2023 is on December 2023 at 338! The next lowest is 848 in march 2023 so she's maintaining high ferritin of over a 1000 most of the time. I can see a rapid cognitive change that I think is a contributing factor. I get so frustrated because I want to know if it's weeks months or years for concern. And is it beacause of the Decitabine it's elevated. She's had under or around 10 transfusions of b+ blood so it's not like 25-50 transfusions at ALL. There is no congenital condition related to her numbers either as she's an identical twin. Her cancer was from breast cancer & hormones she took. Her identical twin never took hormones & she's a miracle, 8 years out from stage 4 AND a spot on the liver. The MDS is now fallout from the prior chemo & radiation as I understand it. I just want all bases covered while we're getting the hemoglobin & other numbers back. She responded from the first round of dacagen whereas most take 3-5 treatments. Any ideas i'll gladly take in I'm FRUSTRATED they don't take this ferritin more proactively. Xxo
Folfox has its kind of side effects but Folfiri is a poison. My only motive to write here is if doc has advised folfiri chemo therapy to your known please say a big no.
My father is a known case of ckd and on MHD Last week my father diagnosed RCC doctor suggested that robotics nephrectomy, what should I do? Kindly gives suggestions for we goes for open radical nephrectomy or robotic nephrectomy

I took immunotherapy called KETRUDA ,, IT WIPED OUT STAGE FOUR LUNG CANCER, BUT THEN IT CAME BACK SO WE USED THE RADIATION,,,☢️ WE HAD TO STOP THE IMMUNOTHERAPY BECAUSE IT WAS ATTACKING THE ADRENAL GLANDS IN THE UPPER KIDNEYS, WHICH IS VERY VERY RARE, BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED✝️,, you can live literally years and years with cancer. It’s a controlled thing so for the people that’s just finding out through cancer. It’s not necessarily a death sentence right away. They have ways to kill it and I mean a real fast you just keep your faith Jesus who is God, and you talk to him daily and you think about good things

BCLC has revised its guidelines whereby resection is an option for single tumor any size in child A patients without any evidence of portal hypertension. Eastern centres in Japan, Korea, China have their own criteria for resection that is not as restrictive as BCLC ( intermediate stage )

i have this cancer, this doesnt make me feel like treatment is worth it, already did 18 weeks of it and been hospitalized for sepsis from cisplatin. but im a fighter so im going to fight it. just dont like hearing these kinda options.
