"The Bogey Men" is an Irish podcast unique with funny, honest and engaging conversations around all things golf.
We talk professional and amateur golf, from a fans perspective. This youtube channel will have everything from challenge videos, to golf travel videos around Ireland to feature interviews with some of the biggest names in the game.
From the troubles of a club player to the greatest in the game, this is the podcast for the everyday golfer.
A little "Golf Sidekick" course management strategy and more thinking where you want the ball to go instead of where you don't want to be and you'll be a regular mid-80's shooter in no time.
Doonbeg the best conditioned golf course in Ireland hands down. Shame so many people can’t get over who owns it and object to every improvement they try to make there. Could be the best in Ireland easily.
Hey, I'd say get in touch with Matt in Mount Juliet and see if they can order it in? Otherwise I'm sure they'd be able to fit you into a putter that works best for you!
Review of "Top 10 Golf Courses in Ireland" Hi lads, Great job on the video showcasing the 10 best golf courses in Ireland! Your selection really highlights the rich diversity and stunning beauty of Ireland's golfing landscape. The video was well-edited with breathtaking drone shots and insightful commentary on each course. I have a couple of suggestions that might enhance the viewing experience even further. Since Ireland is renowned for both its links and parkland courses, perhaps you could consider splitting the list into two separate top 10s: one for the best links courses and one for the best parkland courses. This way, viewers can get a clearer understanding and appreciation of the unique qualities each type of course offers. For the links courses, I’d recommend featuring: Royal County Down Ballybunion Golf Club Lahinch Golf Club Portmarnock Golf Club Waterville Golf Links Royal Portrush Golf Club Tralee Golf Club The European Club County Sligo Golf Club Enniscrone Golf Club And for the parkland courses: Adare Manor The K Club Mount Juliet Druid’s Glen Carton House (Montgomerie) Fota Island Powerscourt Golf Club The Heritage Palmerstown House Estate Headfort Golf Club (Championship Course) On that note, I highly recommend a visit to Headfort Championship. It's a hidden gem that combines challenging play with the picturesque surroundings of the Boyne Valley. The mature trees and beautifully designed holes make it a standout parkland course that deserves recognition. Cheers and keep up the fantastic work!
Was at Clandeboye a few years ago to play in an Open event which they had most Sundays. Weather was awful so number of people playing was very low. So I left without playing and decided to drive to my hotel in Belfast. While I was parking my car someone drove into it. All in all a bad day. Would love to go back though as it looked like a really nice set up.
Oh no, I hope that doesn't stop you from coming back, the guys in the club are genuinely so nice. Hopefully you get back there soon and have a better experience.
A Fascinating watch 🤔, but you’re fitter is talking too much 😬, let the man hit puts give feedback, then explain what is happening (putter length info fine) way too much technical info😬, I’d find confusing, I found your Ai-One Milled Eight TS Putter great, Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer
Played it Monday, Very scenic, agree with the second guy, you wouldn’t want to play it regularly, once was enough for me. One bit of advice is if it’s very windy stay in bed, it’s a course for single handicap golfers.
Played County Down with my son. Experience of a lifetime. Such a unique course and a enjoyable walk. Few blind tee shots however a good caddy will give direction. 9th tee outstanding view.
Portmarnock is a fair but tough links you not mention The Island, European, Waterville and then there is Ballyliffen (2) courses and Rossapenna (3) courses and Lahinch, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, Portstewart, Ennis rose, Rosses Point, Ballyconneally, in fact Ireland has a multitude of great links courses any visitor will be spoilt for choice there are so many here.
There are so many great courses in Ireland. Limiting the list to 10 is nearly impossible. Some absolute belters in the list there. Island is class, european is a beast. I love Lahinch. Hadn’t played it when we recorded this but have a whole other video on it. Ardglass is amazing. So much good golf here
When we recorded this we hadn’t played Rosapenna, St. Patrick’s wasn’t even open then either. Since then yea we’ve played all 3 and they’re all world class!
God damn it, I’ve just said I’m finished building my bag and then someone handed me the jailbird and now I’ve just seen this video. Guess I’m off to Juliet for a fitting 🤦🏻♂️
I kinda feel like the fitter should give the person the club, let them hit a few, and then tell them the difference. I think telling them what to expect beforehand might influence how what they do. I think that would help the person find the putter that would actually fit their natural stroke rather than them slightly changing their stroke
Thank you so much John, I'm delighted you enjoyed the coverage. Caolan played fantastic, as did Max and so many others. It's safe to say a lot of people are happy for Caolan!
@@mickcole2763Norman couldn’t make the course he wanted due to environmental issues and a rare species of snail found on the land. It explains some of the weak holes. Lahinch , Ballybunion and Tralee are better links courses imho.
@myopenmind527 Tralee and Lahinch yeah... Ballybunion not so much imo. The original Norman course was miles better than the current one... But yes the snail really ruined what could of been up there with the very best in the world.
Matt and the team are great and really know their stuff! The set up is great from the indoor green to the outside area too. Honestly it's a world class setup! Thanks so much for watching
Maybe do some courses that aren't over 300 a round, but you're just part of the industry. Adare is ridiculous, never open and a bane of the local community.
Maybe have a look at some of our other videos where we go and visit courses like Arklow, Shannon, Standhill, Ardglass, Downpatrick, Old Conna and others.
We'll try plan some for sure! We'll be live streaming the final day of the East of Ireland, the Irish Close and the AIG Cups & Shields Finals. Giving it the full broadcast treatment
Have a look at 17th Green (2nd round) - you sank birdie but something didnt suit my eye (not a coach but looks like shoulder sway) - might be a little fix 👍
I'll pass it onto him, he said he struggled with putting that day, but to be fair he managed to bounce back the following week winning the West of Ireland Championship haha. Thanks so much for watching, appreciate it!
This is excellent lads. A great insight to how the elite players make their way around a golf course and how the react/recover from bad shots (not that there were many). They'll all be lining up to be on course with you after Keith winning the West of Ireland the following week.
That's a great list. We need to do an updated list as we've had the chance now to play some more great courses, haven't been to Waterville or Old head yet though!
