The Boise Baroque Orchestra was formed in 2003, with the goal of bringing the best of the Baroque and classical repertoire to the Treasure Valley. The musicians are professionals in the area, many of whom perform with the Boise Philharmonic, the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale and Opera Idaho. The Boise Baroque Orchestra is developing new audiences and providing musicians with the opportunity to significantly extend their repertoire.
😲. I too am extremely embarrassed that I never heard of him. I just watched the movie “Chevalier.” It was EXCELLENT. I’ll be sure to watch the movie about Marie Antoinette later today!
I only discovered Bologne this afternoon and already have developed a taste for his 'French Baroque' style, very capable composer Thank you for the biography, fascinating guy. Enjoyed the performance. Your comment 0:45 made me laugh. Post would have posed a few difficulties. I already know a number of French composers, such as Lully, Charpentier, Rameau and Couperin, but there were so many others. I understand the French revolution pretty much put an end to this period of music, but thanks to RU-vid and more so orchestras like yours, its glory has been resurrected to be appreciated and enjoyed. Moreover, no longer is it just to be enjoyed by the French nobility, now peasants like me can listen to it over and over again. Good things never die.
@@francophone. Well you are right, I feel he can be more accurately compared with the Galante style, viz a ziz JC Bach. Saying that, his life was only a bit later than Rameau who definitely was French Baroque.
Beautifully played and conducted, so beautifully conducted. Thank you so much. Breathless stuff!!! Here on my own, but had to start clapping at the end of it.
Well said a great composer and personality thank you for your good presentation I hope other channels do like this spot on. Much appreciated excellent work
I GREATLY enjoyed this lovely piece of music offered to us by Geoffrey Hill! Thank you so much. The gift of 12 days of BBO Music has been a lovely one and this is my very favorite so far! Bravo to you all! Carolyn Gilbert
