Bamboo is also spun into yarn similar to how wood becomes a paper product. Thing is the chemicals used to break down the fibers may not be available to the common public. The fiber is considered to be a cellulose type - meaning a plant fiber base. Yarn is from 2yr old bamboo shoots. Any older and the fiber is too stiff to break down.
