Dogs like that are a genetic mess. The front legs are too wide and ungainly and unathletic, the muzzle is too flat and the bite has to be inferior. I am not in favor of those Johnson styled dogs. I have witnessed them getting hurt during hog hunts. And I know for certain that they are not even capable of defeating a large male coyote. The bite is too weak and they run out of gas quickly.
That is what you would use a standard American bulldog for this is a house dog at this point with training im sure he would make a great guard dog for a family who wants a couch potato slash house protector and just like this dog would make a bad catch dog a working catch dog wouldn't make a good house pet.
@@noahnoah1413 I agree with most of what you said with the exception of the performance dog may not make a good pet. I have owned several performance dogs and our dogs were good living inside with us. The term is "dead game." It is my belief that a dog that's meant to be a farm dog whether that's catch work dealing with hogs or cattle or being on the hunt should also be able to be around farmhands and family without issue.
@@Thetailofthetrident the hound in my profile pic was hunted in the finals of the 2007 UKC world hunt. He also sired the 2013 UKC world show champion. I hunted him 360+ nights a year for 5 years, hunting in 27 states, and he was also a house dog.
@@dustyroads5753 He looks very impressive and that black pit bull treeing the raccoon is impressive. In order for a dog to be effective they have to have that stamina. And without it they can't catch varmints, or ward off predators. Flat faced bowlegged cumbersome dogs are not good for that work. And again what a great dog you got there!
Not a good representation of what a true American Bulldog should look like.. Ol Southern bulldogs, White English Bulldogs, Scott type bulldogs, and look up Hines American Bulldogs. Those are the true bulldogs of the past. My 75lb boy would dominate this dog in any competition.
Old English and English are totally different. This appears to be a strange mix of Old English and pit bull (a horrible breed). But, hes prolly a great companion thanks to the bulldog blood.
