Allgood input except you neglected to mention that a more expensive all-terrain electric skateboard what's solve most of the issues are all of the issues encountered with the cheaper hub motor board and allow you to maintain thale level of fun if not increase it. I'm on my third board. Each an upgrade from the last. Backfire Zealot to OwnBoard Zeus to my current ride the Lorentz Major. The major eats any potholes I fail to dodge, typical road debris etc etc. It'll do 40mph and so far my longest single trip was 17.5 miles and I only used 40% of my battery on that.

Great point, I definitely should have touched on AT boards more. I was considering a meepo hurricane as well. I think I should have included a disclaimer that my thoughts in this video really only apply to entry level boards. Thanks for watching anyhow! Cheers

*esk8 is the best way to get around!* ⚡️🤟🏽🤙🏽🤟🏽⚡️ eBoardin is hella fun. Recommend a belt drive board though. I commute 5-8 miles each way regularly. I used to ride rough streets of East London on 90mm hub motors, it's doable. If you got huge gaps and super rough roads then 100-105mm wheels. Agree about dust, dusty streets cause wheels to slip out sometimes 😭
@sagesends

Yeah I think a belt drive with big wheels or maybe even the off-road wheels would solve a lot of the issues! Cheers and keep ripping!

@@sagesends I know many people like AT wheels, not for me, longboarders been ridin rough roads on 80-85mm wheels for years. AT is safer at much higher speeds though, for speed demons and older folks.

Glad to hear your experience. I loved riding my board in college for fun but I’m not the best rider despite my years of experience with longboards and probably like 500 miles logged on my e board. My top speed I would go on a road I knew very well was like 22mph. Otherwise I would feel too afraid of wiping out and I did a couple times. Thankfully it wasn’t anything too bad but it really could have been. That being said I don’t think I would ever use one of these for transportation. It felt awesome riding it but as a rider I never felt safe around vehicles of any kind and know I would be better off riding something a little more traditional and predictable.
@sagesends
@sagesends Месяц назад
Yeah I was lucky to have a lot of bike lanes and bike paths in santa cruz that it was great on. However I was always on edge around cars. And yeah 22 is plenty on these things. I've gone 30 a fair few times and it is always a little terrifying. Only did it to get the adrenaline going, it was never necessary lol. I just did one of those mid drive ebay conversion kits and god damn it's such a better method of transport... faster, wayyy longer range, way more practical, more comfortable, and similar price. I paid under $700 for the whole conversion.

Is this video real? Are you still riding on meepo v3 while I already went on to backfire zealot and sold it, some electric scooters and mopeds that I also sold, and now one wheel and EUC begode T4? I understand that there must be something about money, but it is no longer inexpensive to purchase new hub motors or perform general maintenance. Anyways let me watch the video ahhaha
@szymonbanasik3606
@szymonbanasik3606 Месяц назад
I believe the EUC is the safest of all electric devices, especially with the huge tires and suspension. It eats all the potholes, and there's no need to worry about getting over the handlebar since there isn't one, and you have both hands free. A single charge can always provide at least 50 miles of range. It took me a long time to convince myself to buy one. Now after almost two years and no need for even the smallest maintenance it's really my favorite.
@sagesends
@sagesends Месяц назад
Yeah! I kept it cause it just kept working. My car and sur ron kept need maintenance and the v3 just kept going. I fixed the hubs twice, so that did happen. Yeah EUC is hands down the best portable form of transportation. I would argue that if size isnt a limit for a PEV, ebikes are the most capable, especially the ridiculous range you can get from pedal assist ones. I have a tongshen mid drive ebike I just converted and it's amazing. 45+ mile range and itll do 30mph, and the whole conversion only cost me like $650 (I already had the bike). You might not be able to go over the bars on a EUC, but if they malfunction somehow, or lose power, or you go past the torque limit... at 30... that could be a life changing injury. Very low chance but if it did happen... would just be soo bad. I like the bike cause I know that even if the motor bricks while I'm riding itll keep rolling and I can keep pedalling. Thank you for watching and providing your experience! Cheers!
@szymonbanasik3606
@szymonbanasik3606 Месяц назад
The hardest part is definitely having to trust EUC, but thankfully everything just works. I love things that work flawlessly. When I used skateboards, the remote would occasionally disconnect even when I was riding. This happened with literally everything else I tried. I was afraid of bikes because my belt fell off on a slope and I got stuck. EUC's job is to literally keep you alive and level no matter what. If anything would stop you, even when using an e-bike, EUC would magically speed up the wheel to get you through the obstacle. Anyways please continue recording more videos thanks
@sagesends
@sagesends Месяц назад
Yeah it was denfinitely a tossup for me, I was really thinking of getting a kingsong or begode. Went with the bike purely for the cargo hauling capabilities. I'm using it as a complete car replacement at the moment. More videos to come!

Well done, thank you. I have changed several chainbelts and after while I found a solution for easier assembling. Put the jackshaft into the swingarm and put an 8 mm rawplug into both sides of the swingarm, flush. This way you hold jackshaft + swingarm + spacers in position to bring all all them together into the correct position. Put in the swingarm axle half. Then you can go to the right side to bring the swingarm in the correct position. Push the axle and the plug on the right side will hold it in position. After all you can push the swingarmaxle completely. Especially when you are alone this is an easy way to replace the belt or sprocket or.......!

Awesome! Crazy to think I could go 150 miles with my 74V 60ah Chi Gladiator touring battery. You would have gone 5% farther with the headlight off. Maybe not the stock headlight, but if you have a blinder headlight like mine, it consumes 30W.
@sagesends
@sagesends 4 месяца назад
Woah! Yeah I left my bike on during a class once and came back an hour and a half later and the headlight/idle circuitry had used about 2%. So for this seven hour ride, assuming half of that loss was the headlight, then yeah! I'd probably go another 7 or 8 miles lol. Wild to think about.

Can you pls make a tutorial how to install a qs8 connector because im scared of getting electruted!!!
@sagesends
@sagesends 4 месяца назад
Just do one side at a time, leave the other side completely intact untill the first is completely soldered and heat shrink wrapped. That way there's no possibility of them shorting on each other. To solder heavy gauge wire you will need a nice soldering iron or a butte connector. I already installed my qs8 so I can't make a video on it, but just look up how to solder heavy gauge wire and be careful! You can always send your battery back to the manufacturer to get re-wired if need be

It's a great fork! I got mine for about $700 on pinkbike (although it needed a complete overhaul back then). That being said, the fastace fork is pretty good for enduro riding. I just got the Fox 40 since I can make it super progressive for jumps and motorcross. It also runs much smoother and has faster rebound, which I like.
@thebigoutsidemtb
@thebigoutsidemtb 4 месяца назад
@@sagesends $700 isn't too bad. I was looking at the fastace fork. And yeah it seems the Fox 40 has a lot more rebound. It seems like a lot of these Sur Ron forks lack good rebound. Maybe I will have to keep an eye out for a Fox 40. The only thing that is making this bike ride bad is the fork for me. A new fork and it's going to be DIALED!
