I constantly see so much hate for Vince in the comments. I actually think Vince is doing better these days compared to for instance the 2015 farewell tour. At the end of the day, he is the voice of Mötley Crüe and for better or worse his voice is the voice that I want to hear when I go to a Crüe show. He was never an incredible vocalist to begin with so don’t expect him to be one now.
From 4:44 - John 5 can play the solo and rhythm guitar at the same time! It must be another one of his 'special techniques' he does that us stupid non musicians dont understand!
Well, at least you admit you are stupid. It's a one guitar band- he can't do both parts. And I hate to tell you, often times one guitar bands have behind stage guitar players playing rhythm parts. Either way, I don't know what you expect from him. I'm sure he's not the one that decided to do things this way.
I really don't know why people come to watch this video and speak poorly about the band. When I was 16, I saw Motley for the first time at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin in 1987 on the Girls, Girls, Girls tour. We saw them a couple of years ago on the stadium tour. It was clear that Mick's movement was severely hindered. He is an iconic player who wrote many memorable riffs and solos. As a fan for over 35 years, I am thrilled that my 18 year old son and I were able to attend this concert, see these legends, and hear their songs together. Have they aged? Yes. So have I. Instead of being upset that they aren't who they were in 1987, I have a spirit of gratitude that my son and I were able to see and hear them perform live together. We are both John 5 fans as well. He is a top-notch guitarist! We are seeing him at an upcoming solo show in Madison and look forward to meeting him at the meet and greet. I am thankful that John 5 joined the band so that these songs can continue to be played live. By the way, in this attached video, John 5 explains what he is doing live. ru-vid.comIggweZpimV4
After what they did to Mick Mars I wrote these guys off. Glad I did because this sound was way out of wack, way over board to block out Vinces voice. No way he can hold a note for more than 3 seconds let alone a 7 second scream. Time to retire for good.
It's over Vince... take a final bow and quit embarrassing yourself and the band. You guys were my first concert back in 84, so i ain't hating, but do you really need the money at this point? I mean , karaoke night is better.
I had a bad broken ankle once that wouldn't heal so i decided to push through the pain and go back to hanging drywall. It was ugly for awhile but eventually I made it back. Maybe Vince is just broken but allowing us to see his perseverance. Personally, i think its admirable to allow us to see him make mistakes yet keep pushing through. If he's dedicated to this, he'll shake back. I just miss Mick. They should record with Mick and have a new guest guitarist for every gig. Id love to see Holmes jam with Crüe. Wylde, Adrian Smith, Satriani, Wolfie, whoever. Let that little chinese kid on Instagram do a gig. Make the shit fun. John 5 is a copycat master. Everyone knows that. Sure, he can play anyone's shit. I want some style. Personality. Stop playing Mick's riffs cause you sound like a poser. Noone can play Mick's tunes but Mick. Period. Vince stop being lazy and rorate guitarists every single gig. Thats the answer to a little more Crue. Yall wanna listen to real shit, check out Mick Mars' new solo shit. Totally bad ass!!! And Vince should take lessons from Jizzy Pearl on longevity.
John 5 is an excellent guitarist. I have seen him solo, up close. The guy is great. From this it sounds like Vince is still making sounds, that sound like the lyrics. Nikki apparently playing to tracks. John 5 is the only honest guy in the band.
Thanks for the post, but good gawd! I hope John 5 is getting a hefty paycheck. Horrible beyond words. Wasn't Tommy Lee once a very good drummer?? Nikki Sixx was never a good bass player, but this rumbling slop sets a new standard for bad. And Vince...what can one say? And I am an OG fan - I even have the Leathur Records ep and have seen them at Pookies, a small now defunct club in Pasadena CA, so I'm not hating, just a realist. Oh what once was... I live four blocks from Summerfest and know better to pay to see this abortion
What happens when you sell out and leave Rob Zombie for a better pay day??? I was a huge John 5 fan for years. Since he was with Manson. He lost all respect from me and lost me as a fan. Rob Zombie won't talk to him. Last I heard! Just saying
I'm not a guitar player but it looks like he does move his fingers for the first bit and then swipes the strings at the end of it to finish the section. I think he's still playing.
