Just wanted to add my thanks! Thanks for taking your time to make this video. It was fantastic! I would have never had the courage to change the broken axle on my 2014 RZR 800without your video. You saved me hundreds of dollars while helping me gain the personal satisfaction of doing the job myself. If we love near each other, it would be my pleasure to buy you a steak dinner as a thank you!
Currently workin on mine, its a 2009 450 seems the front side of the hub has an extra lip on it so the same size bearing that goes in the back side wont work on the front. Any ideas? Thanks
What if your leaking black looking oil from where the axel pops in to the rear diff? I think my mechanic is dicking me around. The previous time i had him changw my oil, they cross threaded my drain plug. Brough it back to them to have them fix it. And they told me i needed two new wheel bearings. got it back and. Oticed the black oil around the rear right drive shaft. Almost looks like there is a little bit of space between the diff and the drive shaft. Alao has a bit of a clickey aound when you wiggle the wheel. Other side looks thight.
This is the only one on their site. I don't remember what the inside diameter was on the bearings but I would think this one would still work. www.harborfreight.com/slide-hammer-and-bearing-puller-set-5-piece-62601.html
Thanks for the video yours is the only one where you didn’t remove the whole front end . Bumper front grill etc , I’m guessing my 2011 800s would be the same procedure
@mudandgutsoffroad I just bought a pro r and considering this box. Someone said it sags and leaks and the hinges are weak. Is this an issue with yours?
@@mudandgutsoffroad How do you like the turbo ,I just ordered one. paid little over 33 otd for the ultimate at bobs cycle repair in ohio. What else have you done to it?
@johnkaminski646 I love it. We have nearly 3000 miles on the turbo r with no issues. I haven't done much to it, just wheels, 35" tires, 10" sub, and the basics.
I now have a turbo r. But u did it the same. I use nilight switches off of Amazon. I try to use one of the pulse bar plugs to two accessories. Like I put my 30" light bar and my dome light on one plug. Then I got a 7" light bar and back up light on one plug. Different switches so two switches on one plug. That was my plugs go farther.
Wow, 8 yr old video but as others have stated, great video, simple instructions and helpful suggestions like blue threadlocker and such. Appreciate the how to man. I feel dumb for thinking it was harder than this.
Neil, take a look at the Baja Designs headlight kit for your Pro XP. I had the same issue, after installing the Baja design kit not only did I get amazingly bright lights (better than most light bars) but I no longer have any glare at all. The head light kit is plug and play. No wires or switches to install. Just pull out the cheap plastic headlights, and replace with the mounting bracket and pod lights. Easy peasy. Good luck! You’ll love your new buggy. It’s been one of the most reliable buggies we’ve ever owned. We have over 6000 miles on ours and haven’t had any issues at all. Hell, I didn’t have to replace the wheel bearings and belt till I had over 4000 miles on it. Good luck and have fun riding!
@Neil Davidson ok no problem how did they work for you? I need something that's really good on Hard pack and not mud tires. I had a defender xmr but I don't need the mud tires all the time so I'm hunting for good tires and wheels
@@houstonjohnson7703 I really liked them on the 1k but on the turbo they wasn't aggressive enough. The turbo would blow them away to easy but on the 1k it was just about the right amount of traction so you could spin them if you wanted but they would clean out and go.
Nothing as long a you don't turn the steering to far. If you turn the steering to far it could put the axles in a bind and break them. I normally don't run the stops I just watch my throttle when the steering is turned.
The ones I had measured a little under 31. Every 32 I've had so far measured around 31. I wish there was a standard so they had to mount and measure one before they sized it.
@@nyatvtrailhogs6927 brother i love it. This one is of good quality and it seals of great. For me I'm (6') tall enough that most of the time I'm looking out the center of the top glass which works great but my daughter is 13 and shorter so the bends are in her way. I got a buddy working on some 2" seat risers to lift her up a little and I think that will fix that problem.
Just bought this same hitch. I'm planning on welding a 1..25 hitch shank to this hitch and attach it back into the stock hitch. Will make it even stronger.
@@mudandgutsoffroad one more question….is it sturdy and everything you’d want in receiver hitch?? The stock one is really a joke compared to say one designed for a truck or even a Yamaha rhino! I’m just looking for sturdy and reliability!
It just depends on how and where you ride. The did great on the 1k but on the turbo they didn't have enough bite. I'm running the 808's now and they got enough bite for the turbo and they do good in hard pack as well.
Hey Neil, I’ve got everything on this kit installed and just curious which wire you connect to which on the plug behind the gauge cluster. Black to 6 and red to 7? Or black to 7 and red to 6? Thanks in advance
What i did was install the wires then make a quick test before putting everything back together. What those wires do is make the dash indicators light up i believe.
They held up real good. I always liked the dirt commanders back then but as the machines got more powerful i started going with a less aggressive tire because of my heavy foot. Lol
We did one of these in whitesville NY just north of Genesee Pa with a 2 man crew setting a class 2 fifty footer like 800 ft up a damn Mt side and since it was only the 2 of us we had to use bed winch an good ole radios!! It sucked digging the hole by hand dragging the winch up all the blocks an rigging butt chains an stuff. But at the end of the day it seemed like ya really accomplished something ya know
Did you mount the wd box behind where your middle glove box is? I'm doing mine now and mounted it there but haven't put plastics back on to see if it's in the way
