I’ve done this with my Stearman dozens of times, no big deal. Just put on a new propeller, refuel, and you’re ready to go again. Mine was an R/C plane though I noticed his prop was bent up . I can’t speak for real planes, but wooden props break If they hit the ground and prevent engine/mount and fire wall damage. That plane didn’t really look wrecked that badly but the engine and everything else up front was probably bent all to hell.
They haven't sold Cartoon black in years ! Very selfish people that made the paint. Hurt many many artist because they kept the recipe to themselves. They could have easily sold the ingredients on how to make the cartoon black for a lot of money but kept it a secret. Shame on them !
Since the Stearman's tires start smoking the instant they touch the runway, I'm pretty sure the fear stricken passenger had both of his clod-hoppers planted firmly on the rudder pedals/brakes. He probably forgot being told to keep his feet away from the pedals during landing.
Accomplished taildragger pilots don’t use brakes on landings or take off. Most early taildraggers don’t even have brakes. Tiger Moths are a good example of that. My last plane, a Vultee Valiant, had new redlines put on it. Even taxiing with those was often a tail lifting experience and the Vultee was 5000 pound animal.
Smoke from the tires on contact with the runway indicates SOMEONE had their feet on the brakes at touchdown... Toes only on the rudder pedals will avoid that expensive embarrassment... Engine teardown inspection for sudden stoppage and airframe inspection/repair at a minimum :(
A. Nothing is extreme in these maneuvers in this plane B. This plane can take up to 3 2 seater-gliders up in the air (Used to be common, then for some reason reduced to 2 gliders) C. This airplane is capable hands can do way more than Mr. McGhee would even consider trying! (No disrespect to his skills!) D. This plane was designed as a preliminary flight training and general multi use utility aircraft for the Polish flying clubs. This plane was also sold worldwide where many of them ended up in the USA and Canada as STOL.
I say she's very good. Everyone has their own style. She doesn't have to make it 3D or anything to be the best. My style is very similar and I make $200 per job
