Your videos were something I really looked forward to each week when I was having cancer treatment and longing to be well and back in my kayak. Your channel has also helped me choose gear and learn about SUP paddling. Now that I'm quite OK I still enjoy your adventures but I totally understand it can become a chore to produce content to meet a timetable. I look forward to you and Erika having adventures in the backyard and beyond. Thank you from Janet.
Thanks Janet, you comments make me happy every week and you are always so kind and encouraging!😍 Now when it´s summer it might be no difference because I paddle so much but later in the cold period it will be less. I really hope less editing will give me more energy to search for new waters.🙌
It seems like a wise choice to do videos not on a fixed schedule where you "have to", but when you like to and based on inspiration and available time. Maybe this will allow time for even more adventures! Great content on the channel. Happy paddles!
Im planning to buy one in Mexico, its good to know, that they back up their products😊. I'm still wondering if it's true that a V3 is already being shipped, and if so, whats the difference vs V2
@@garzapedroa I recommend to buy one. Really like them!🙌It’s seems to be true, some people have bought them and publish on facebook. I don’t know the difference yet so I can say what the difference is.🤗
Dan-Erik, I came across your channel when choosing which SUP board to buy. When I was not yet so comfortable on top of a board, you made it look easy and fun! Your channel has been a major inspiration to just pick-up the gear, go out, and do stuff. We're the ones saying - Thank you!
There are possibly many phones that get ruined by water. If I am near water with my device, I put it in a plastic zip loc™ bag which are easily available or a dry bag. My current phone is a Ulefone Armor 12 which can be immersed in water but it doesn't float. Attaching floats to it is a good idea. I detest knowing that there are phones in lakes and rivers that will eventually detoriate and cause pollution. Ulefone also manufactures rugged tablets as well as rugged phones.
I really recognize the feeling, from back in the (web) blogging era. But consider at least having a notebook, or a text file on your phone, where you write down video ideas, as soon as they pop up in your head. So you have ideas to choose from, one the inspiration comes back. Also, a chill video from your backyard once in a while is very welcome. Your backyard is waaaaay nicer than most of ours. :) Paddla lugnt!
@@richard-j thanks, you made me So glad with this comment!😍I often put up things there to paddle or topic to record. But not always that I do on my list, or more that I don’t do on my list.🤗
Thanks for a great review. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the board? I’ve noticed that Erika has the narrower 25” version. Based upon your experience with the 27” version do you think the 25” would be too narrow for a 90kg, intermediate paddler, mainly on flatter water?
@@TudorThomas Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!😍 Nsp have a new version of this board now. I think it’s the same price around 12000sek, less with preorder, at least in Sweden. We have both 27 and 25, have only done unboxing on 25. I’m under 70kg, so very hard for me to say what will be best for you, for me both are stable flat water but if it’s get windy on a lake, 27 is much more stable than 25.🤗
Odnośnie powrotów w te same miejsca: tak, lubię wracać w te same miejsca jeśli zrobiły one na mnie dobre wrażenie, wiążą się z jakimiś dobrymi wspomnieniami. W innym wypadku szukam nowych.
On the 26th June, I was down in Dartmouth, Devon on holiday. That day was also hot and sunny, and I was lucky enough to have a wonderful paddle down the River Dart and out to sea to explore a little bit of the coastline. We stopped at a beach for a snack before heading back to Dartmouth. My longest SUP paddle to-date. I think we worked it out about 7.5km. When you pulled the temperature gage out of the water, I was expecting you to pull out a bottle of beer, chilled by the water 🙂
Awesome with a holiday and paddle, sound like you had an amazing time!😍🙌I will look up river Dart on google maps. Well I don’t drink alcohol so the bad thing I drink is things like Pepsi Max.😱
Sorry for the confusion. You can load the board both with fin in front or back. Strap the same way. Choose was is best air dynamic for your board and car.🤗
Your wife looks so different with her hair down, for a moment I thought it was a different lady. Also nice Tattoos. What a beautiful day, and looked like you made the most of it.
May I ask about your velcro system for the finbox. The old version is without d ring right? Do you have issues with it? Mine always loose while paddle in the beach.
We have one with d-ring and one without. Both works good to tighten but the d-ring is easier. Do you use the double burdock to secure, both our straps have double burdock?
I enjoyed following your trip to the rapids, although I was worried you would rip the bottom out of your kayak. I couldn't try that in my NK Exrcze. It looks warm and summery with your t shirt and the mosquitos but I think 17 degrees c is cold! It's been wet and cold this weekend in Sydney. Yesterday my partner did a 10km kayak race in the pouring rain and the temperature only reached 12 degrees C. I stayed home and kept warm with the cats. Your river is very beautiful.
Thanks!😍 I'm also little worried about the kayak but so far, no problem, seems like they are durable. If I had a NK exrcze I would have been worried in the river all the time and never do rapids. More and more I'm thinking of a plastic kayak instead of fiberglass, downside is the weight. It´s warm for us, love the season with less clothes! How did your partner do in the race?
@@danerik.westerlind Bruce and his friend, Brett, did OK in the race (paddling a double ski). Afterwards, Bruce asked if I want to start racing with him again. I think he feels too slow for Brett, who is 30 years younger than Bruce. Bruce must be desperate if he wants to race with me. I haven't done any racing for a few years and was never very good. I would rather take my time and enjoy being out on the water looking at the birds and scenery. Those heavy plastic kayaks are indestructible but are incredibly heavy. I guess they are OK once you are on the water. Getting them on and off the car roof racks would be punishing. Have a great week and happy paddling.
@@janets3549 maybe he want to do something with you on the water. I understand you, I´m an enjoying person instead of racing. 🤗 yes, heavy but good for rapids. Thanks, hope you also will have a great week and maybe some paddling!
Good tree to go under, always hard to resist 😎 Works nicely with the GoPro angles. Used to use the front and back handle more, should get back to this. I seem to recall a similar fight I had upstream with the river in Gävle 😎 Those rocks are no friend of one's paddle! Fun experience with the fish 😂 That's what I always say as well - every paddle brings something new, even if it's a familiar location.
Thanks, really appreciate you opinion of the GoPro angle. More job but it will be good if you use more angles! Yes, you are more to do rapids than me! Next time I will take the plastic paddle.🙌🤗
Fun video mate, glad you didn't fall in. also love the new cam angle. You should get yourself a pack raft for having fun on there. I know you paddle them waters all the time Dan and know them well. So this bit is for anyone who is thinking about doing a small rapped for the first time always walk the river bank first and have a good look and plan your rote.
Thanks, really appreciate it your feedback on the camera angle. So much quicker edit than 360. So far I have never fall in with x500, stable as a rock. I'm thinking more and more of a durable plastic kayak instead of buying a fiberglass kayak. Yes, really good you mention this, did not think of mention that, always chk unknown rapids before paddle them!
@@danerik.westerlind yeah, i wonder if you 'jump' in with legs first if it will come off, a strap underneath would help probably, if that is optional. Good video btw, very useful
@@SANDERVANDERVEEN_happy that you enjoyed my video, thanks for watching! This is my old vest, had it for years, never come off, even though I often was bad at tightening it properly.
@@danerik.westerlind Thanks, yeah I recently got a supboard and looking now for safety first videos hehe.. haven't been on the water yet, still orientating which is best.. slow rivers, lakes..
@@SANDERVANDERVEEN_ first time I recommend a calm lake, so not to windy but slow moving rivers works good to. Also recommend to have a friend with you the first time.
Thanks for the video! Itiwit should make a QA user manual for this model :) How much straight should the deck be ? In other words: How much space should be left under the center of the kayak if I turn it upside down on a flat ground?
Thanks, happy that you appreciate my video. I guess they never would do something like that. It's a great kayak so it´s sad that it seems to be so much problem with it. This is the only problem I have had so far and Decathlon replaced it. But a lot of people have different problems with the kayak.
@@-S-P I don't really know what you mean. but if you take a picture of your kayak and show me where to measure, we can probably solve it. You can send me an email, you will find the address in the information about the channel.🤗
Thanks for sharing your latest outdoor adventure. The bike and trailer gives you more options. What lovely conditions you had for your paddle - although 14 degrees C sounds freezing cold to me! I was shocked to see the power boat in the distance. Our rivers have many power boats and jet skis and some of the drivers give the paddlers a bad time, which is why it's best to paddle an ocean ski. If you fall in you can climb back on and the ski doesn't fill up with water. They also easily crest the wake from the power boats.
Thanks for watching!😍 Yes a lot of option, I prefer the car because It´s goes so fast and I don´t need to deflate at home, than at the water inflate/deflate and inflate back home. Yes I said to myself, I don´t need to film this, than I thought about your comment last week and said to myself, maybe I should put the only one I saw on the lake that day. So in the future I might do that. This is a stony lake, so they take it slow and are careful. On other lakes they are more boat traffic. People seems around here to be care about kayakers and stand up paddlers and be nice, som exception. Normally they tend to go slower if you stand up paddle, I guess they thinks it´s harder but normally that gives bigger wake and it becomes harder, maybe that is what they want😂 I also have a boat and been boating a lot more in my life than paddling but paddling is making big strides in boating now.🤗
At first when I saw the title I thought you had gotten tired of carrying the kayak the few meters down to the river and wanted to use a trolley 😂 Turns out that looked really convenient though - a lot better than biking with 18+ kg on your back!
You made me laugh, you know me, don’t like to carry heavy down to the river. 😊 not a fan of deflate and inflate but sometimes it could be a thing and as you say, much better than have it on my back!🙌🤗
