Steve brings the excrement of flying his four-seater plane to different fishing venues across the uk. Demonstrating a range of fishing techniques and discussing flying.
What a difference a year makes. Sad what’s happened to treetops. Use to be my favourite place. Over grown with weeds now which make it practically unfishable and the people I’ve spoken to blanked in their last few visits so don’t go any more. I haven’t been for over 7 months for those reasons. Can’t see it staying open much longer as no fish get caught (if any get stocked) and the weeds are no longer being maintained.
@@theflyingfisherman8941 I believe the sale fell through. It’s been for sale for years but I don’t think the owners run it properly anymore. Overgrown with weeds. Only 3 of the 8 pools are actually fishable and anyone I speak to says they’ve blanked there over the past year. If not right that bookings are still being taken if it’s not being maintained or stocked. The owners are lovely people but I don’t think they’re hearts are in the fishery anymore so it would be best to close till it’s sold. If it ever is. I hope if it’s sold, it remains a fly fishery because the scenery is about and nice as you’ll find
Hi Mathew Yes someone else mentioned this to me, something about everyone drifting the same pace. Is this correct? We just fished tat way as it was Andys first time fly fishing and I was worried about getting a hook in my head 😄
Hi Dave.. oh I do occasionally do a slow figer 8 along with other retrieval techniques (start stop etc.) I am just so inpatient and get bored easily I move back to my comfort zone. 😅
Seemed like a good day out considering the weather. I’m only guessing of course because I couldn’t see a thing coz the lens wasn’t wiped. Im gonna have to try Brenig soon.
So this is the reason i couldn’t fish on 24th ? 😂😂 I like Mere Beck. Good fun and it’s nice and local for me. I’ve been fishing Pennine fishery though where the fish are big and plentiful. Stocked daily and about 1,100 fish are caught per week on average. Well worth a visit. 1 hours drive from Liverpool
Hi Dave. Yes it is... I normally park on the main road and fish up stream but on this occasion i parked at the farm and fished down stream. Nice stretch.
@@theflyingfisherman8941 cheers Steve let me know if you receive this reply please loving your videos great viewing full of facts and humour take care buddy.
Hi were you based can you recommend fisherys in the North west preferably not too far from Merseyside jus got back into fly fishing? Been Mere beck upto now but want something abit bigger
I’m based in Liverpool mate and I go to Tree tops in Wrexham. It’s about 50 mins from my door. I go once a week pretty much. I’m going to start fishing chirk soon
@@theflyingfisherman8941 - I recognise the property to the rear & the Dee flows from West to East past there, however it looks to running in the opposite direction on your footage, which is clearly impossible - it's doing my head in haha
Good to see Chirk fishery getting on the net. We travelled from Kent every June to fish Chirk's amazing mayfly hatch. Further down the road is a nice secluded campsite in the hills that we stay at. Chirk can be difficult sometimes with plenty of fish cruising about but not feeding, often a tiny size 16 or 18 Griffiths Gnat and stealthy approach is the key, even if no fish are rising. There's a great variety of trout stocked there, blues, rainbows, tigers, brook and even a few orange specials. Blues go like trains...! We've moved north a few years ago so don't get to Chirk every year now but hopefully we'll be back in 2021....👍
David Martin Nice vid fished there many times myself but alas not for few years. One question did you stand and brake your rod when you put your third fish back.
I disagree. About the talking. Good video. Thank you for explaining why you change your line and why you checked your fly after the bites, etc. Loads of info. Keep them coming..but would love less music difficult to hear ..
Nice video but I'm with the other chap on the music. Don't really think fishing needs it, would rather listen to the seagulls that were there at the beginning. Keep them coming!
