Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. I take pictures of stuff that happens on the streets. As I have a right to. You have rights to express your viewpoint too, what ever it is. We may disagree on this or that, but the 1st Amendment is something we should be able to agree on. Most of my shots are from a town a little south of me, where I retired from. I exclusively shoot with Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Olympus & Panasonic gear! I use a slide show format as I feel it is a bit of a lost art. Not that I'm any good at it. I think it just makes the pics stand out more than doing all video.
No more Bedpan Brigade?? Used to like the other parade for all of the dogs (pets), too! I worked at the hospital for 13 years, and our Silverton Homers co-ed softball team was in the parade too. Fun times.
Hi NWAuntie! Thanks for dropping by. I don't know. I hope I didn't miss it! This was my 1st time there. I didn't know there was another parade. I wanted to go this year too but forgot to mark it down.
I loved seeing the parade again. My old home town. Most of my kids walked in it at one time or another. I kinda miss it. I've got one daughter still there. My family moved there from Socal in 1965. When we got there it was just a small country town. Good times!
@lur9017 Cool. I'm down from Salem but retired from Linn County area. To me, it still has that small town feel. Thanks for dropping by. I hope to get back to the parade next year.
Hello, another nice photo series, beautifully captured local color and some golden moments. For me, as a city dweller, these are parallel worlds that I would probably never see otherwise. Thank you for publishing!
Hi, Gerhard. Good to see you again. As I think I mentioned one other time. This area is very odd. Pretty large cities very nearby but a 10 minute drive out of town & you are in farm lands. An hour to the west is the Pacific & an hour to the east your near the cascade mountain range. As always, I appreciate you dropping by. Hope to go south next weekend for the yearly Brownsville Pioneer Picnic & Parade.
Your photos are always fascinating, especially in this compilation the sense of the little things that were offered at the flea market. Each object has been lovingly staged, each one somehow tells a story. Beautiful and touching microcosm.
GPT! Thank you once again for stopping by. It is an interesting event. & yes, some of the people really do take extra time to make everything just right. You really see it when visiting their downtown antique mall.
Thanks so much, GPT! These are all small towns around where I live. I live near a bigger one, Salem, the Capital. Near 300,000 including the surrounding area. But you drive a couple of miles out of town & your in agricultural areas. May go to Mt Angel tomorrow as their October Fest starts. It like Bavaria comes to Oregon. Always great fun.
There actually were quite a few folks of color there. I think my thumbnail might actually have some color in that picture here & there as well, LOL. But, you make a point. This is a town down south of me & yes, diversity can be hard to find. I retired from here but lived further north. It had 32,000 people, now over 50K. Very conservative city that almost always votes Republican yet,,,, has an African American Mayor. The times they are a changin.
There are POC in the video. It looks like Albany is ~85% white. It would be nice to see more POC, though, I agree. Source: www.census.gov/quickfacts/albanycityoregon
@@ackbobthedeadThat sounds about right. When I 1st went to work down there, Hispanic pop was less than 10%. & that was about it. So yeah,,, the times they are a changin.
Thanks, George. It was a new/old Oly Em 5 Mk 2. 1st time using it. Oh. New/used Olympus 14-150mm F4.0-5.6 II zoom. Being restricted to 4.0 - 5.6 was a little wild on a cloudy day.
As a British Ex RAF veteran Officer and Airman with 45 years uniformed service who served alongside USAF several times I send my respect to your armed forces personnel present and past. In fact I shall be having lunch with my great friend and former USAF Lt Col Mike straight after writing this comment
After another photo tour through southern Germany and Switzerland I found your comment on my yt page and was interested to know who had commented there. Interesting slide show, both in terms of the text in the description box and the quality of the photos. Documentation and photo-artistic claim at the same time. For me as a German, it's like diving into another world and at the same time the perspective and the choice of motifs are fascinating from a photographic point of view. There is still a lot for me to discover here, so: subscribed
I love Christmas 🎄 🤩 as much as I like seeing people enjoying themselves, seeing those old Detroit beauties alive and well put the biggest smile on my face 😄
Hey thanks for stopping by, Folkenbluzer! Welcome to my other addiction! Albany is a little (well, 50 thou now) town south of that I retired from. People around here do love the old cars.
Hey Lawrs! I have not heard much out of you my dear friend and brother! I was just thinking about you. I hope this finds you well ! Stop by when you can and leave me a line or two. It would mean a lot to know you were ok! PeAce ✌🏻 Dana
@@greatvanzini hey brother Lawrs! It’s been damn awful for Catherine and I . Losing our 34 year old Son Andrew to a accidental overdose of Fentanyl! The authorities have done absolutely nothing to help finding out who sold him this crap 💩. We are still trying to make sense out of it! Anyway my music 🎵 is keeping me busy. Thanks 🙏🏻 sharing your vids with us. It helps too! Peace see ya at Ron Wards or Hippies. Or drop in on my channel and checkout my new cuts! Thanks 🙏🏻 Dana
This is the town where I worked & retired from. I live about 20 miles north of Albany. About 50,000 people now but it still has a real small town feel to it. Where are you at? & thanks for coming by. I appreciate it.
@@thegreatvanziniphotos5976 That's wonderful. I grew up in a similar town atmosphere. Great film making. The only info I have given out is that I used to live in malibu where I recorded the malibu sessions ep on my channel. That's all I can say for now. 😄❔❔❔❔I am releasing my first visual video in a couple of days if you would like to hit the reminder!
Hey, w?fi. Thanks for coming over. I think all that music is from the You Tube Audio Library as I recall. If you like jazz watch Christmas Parade Part 2 I posted today.
@@thegreatvanziniphotos5976 It's wonderful stuff. Transports you to a bygone era. I'll be checking out more of your stuff for sure! And if you haven't already, please hit the 🔔. I have a lot of great material in different genres. I did for you as well. 😊
This Day each year means so much to me each year! For all those that willingly sacrificed their lives to keep my Nation the Greatest place on this earth to live! THANK YOU ALL! You all are my Heros and I will not ever be able to repay you for what you did! Heroes 🇺🇸America's Best 💪🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️You WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN 🎖
Enjoying the photo journalism. I had a number of years doing local photo journalism for a couple of organisations as their press officer. Not as easy as it seems to tell a story by capturing a moment. Almost everyone of shots managed to to that. I shall show this video to a colleague of mine, a retired Lt Col USAF (I served with him when I was in the RAF) who is very much a Republican Trump supporter
Oh thank you, Brian. I am honored by your visit. I take pictures of whatever happens on the streets. I tried to get pics of the counter protest to juxtapose the two but could not find the location or time info. I am hoping (as we all are) that things get back to normal so we can find more activities to shoot. I think we should have a Memorial day event coming up at the end of the month.
