He's just gorgeous! Is he a medium labradoodle? We're currently looking into getting a dog and labradoodles are right at the top. However, we're not experienced dog owners and I read that labradoodle wouldn't be a good choice then. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Question to Doodle owners, I have heard you are not suppose to cut a puppies coat and let the full mature coat come in before a full grooming. Is this what most of you found. We have a large yard and the puppies love playing in the clippings from the lawn and every time they go out and come it they have grass buried in their coat. Also is it normal for them to eat the clippings? Also they eat dear from the planters. That can't be normal. They eat a premium brand puppy food the breeder had them on and a bit of basic table for given as treats. Diet wise they are doing great and are very healthy with two vet trips and shots both times. This trip is next week in fact. Not getting them fixed as I don't beleive in it unless there is a medical reason or behavior reason it might help but to many pets suffer health complications later in life from being fixed.
After the loss of out two male dogs in a year we felt unready to replace them. We had got our boxer mix when our kids were early teens and he lived about 11 years before having to be put down because of a spinal issue. For about 8 of those years we also had a rescue dog that was about 150 lbs and the most gentle giant possible. He was the truest form of guardian dog possible but exactly a year after the boxer was put down we had to put him down because he not only went blind but was losing his ability to walk and control his bowls and bladder. So it took about 7 years then we found a local breeder who had F1B Labradoodles available. We found two males who were very chill while the others were very rambunctious so got two brothers naming them Gus and Jaq after the mice from Cinderella, my wife loves all things Disney. They are now four months old and about 20 inches high at the shoulders. Jaq a chocolate Doodle is very excitable and gets this look like he just wants to go crazy with energy. Gus has two loves, food and running. He's a dark charcoal with the most amazing bronze on the back of his head and shoulders. He just sits and looks at you like he's looking into your soul. Can't imagine life without them now.
