Hey its me, the guy with the red 90gsx that got spanked in the first race by the blazer lol. I've seen the last few races, Congrats bro!! keep it goin! Im hopin to get to the last 2 races to get some more practice in at least haha
The Eclipse DSM was absolutely made to win at these events. Excellent 1st gear take-off with AWD power. There's a higher chance to blow up a transmission than there is to screw up a launch at 4,500 rpms. About the only thing you have to worry about on a launch is a Tesla Plaid and even that you can use more gear to get ahead of. Once you gain track control and can use the whole track there are very few cars than can recover, save a supercar. What's awesome about the DSM is that it teaches you to fix the things you really need to win at the track. Clutch, suspension, tires, etc. All you have to do is learn tire pressures and get that power down. Once you get the basics down anything you add to the engine is just icing on the cake. Here it is on full display proving me right.
Any car with the 6g72 (3000gt, Stealth, 3g Eclipse, etc) timing belt and water pump have to be your number 1 priority. That and ensuring you have a quality Idle Air Control valve, and either an OEM Maf OR a Delphi Maf and you're good to go.
It may read 41K mileage on the Odometer. However, a decent eye would conclude it's more like 141,000 miles. Signs are: radiator is not period OEM 1969 part; undercarriage shows excessive rust for said mileage; passenger cab door side indicates possible rusting/bubbling beneath paint. Also, have a cracked battery from the Pos terminal to the Neg terminal. Since it's not a manual stick shift, the Best I would offer is 22-25K because I would have to source period parts $$$$$ to convert it to manual trans, repack the rear diff, and extensive rust mitigation to the undercarriage, and replace all 4 shocks. So I'll pass on this truck.
No truck from 1969 priced this low will ever be absolutely immaculate. It’s all original paint, there’s no rot or major rust anywhere on the body or undercarriage. Go check being a trailer for a comparable C10 you will see this is priced properly. Just because the radiator isn’t the one from factory doesn’t mean it’s not low miles. Age does more wear then mileage.
@@thetalonangel Dude, stop the madness.... Any idiot can visit Classic Cars' website to see the market price. Found one even cheaper and has A/C for 20K. However, it isn't exactly what I am looking for.
Anyone who has used these and say they've never done this is a liar. LOL, my son did the same thing a month ago. He thought he destroyed his car. It was a quick lesson on how to use the throttle and brake at the same time. I'm glad to see that nothing was damaged.
