In his brief to the DC district court, Jack Smith referred to the writing of James Madison in the Federalist Paper #10 on page 93. “ Framers therefore designed a system of separated powers in part to ensure that no man is allowed to be a judge in his own cause, because his interest would certainly bias his judgment, and, not improbably, corrupt his integrity." The Federalist No. 10 (J. Madison).” Does the Constitution, indeed, include language that ensures that “no man is allowed to be a judge in his own case?” If so, doesn’t this prevent Trump from pardoning him self if he wins the election? Fingers crossed!
Great session. Learned some techniques that I will definitely be putting into practice. Must give you quite the rush when you see the expressions of discovery on the faces of your students when they start erasing the guidelines and begin to see their characters come to life.
I took the renaming as a pet name. Personally in life the men I date usually have their own name for me so I didn’t find that strange or offensive. When someone wants to name you something else that doesn’t connect and is meant to demean you, is one thing but this spoke to who she was and spoke to his attempt to make her more confident about that part of herself vs the shame she felt. I found it very cute
Im only 15 mins in but would love your opinion on your thoughts on the laws in place at the time. How congress made it basically legal for people to be kidnapped and sold into slavery in the south. And did it expand your views on black culture seeing blacks from other places outside of America.
This one was a short game. I would like to see a longer game for this, just to see how everything else develops. A very interesting take on Role playing and story and character development. Side note, this is a really good way kickstart a dnd campaign.
Thank you for sharing. My sister has our grandmother's set of Catalina dinnerware. The colors are amazing and the hand feel and weight bring home their unique handmade nature. Love this!
Loved this episode! I'm into Summer Reads, but I also think there's a big pressure on a Summer Read over like, Fall Reads and Winter Reads. I'm reading a lot of books in those seasons too! Right now I'm reading The Starless Sea as part of a book club (very good!!), and also The Ex Hex which is definitely more of a fall cozy witchy read.
Thanks for writing -- and watching! We had a lot of fun putting this one together. Your idea of Fall Reads and Winter Reads sounds like a lot of fun. Why should summer get all the good books? We always love to hear what other people are reading, too. 🙂
You have given an excellent history of the camera obscura. As far as that device by Hook, I'm hoping there was a stand and a way to ventilate it. I'm noting that the person is drawing on the back of the paper- so the paper must have been somewhat transparent...
