God Bless, be safe, and "It's a New Day in the Outdoors"
Been thinking of getting one of these myself. I priced out a Leer or ARE cap and it was still a little over $4K. So the cost of the RSI isn't that much more...especially considering it is made out of steel and not fiberglass.
Will you do a video of your bow setup youre constantly blowing straight through deer would be curious what lb draw length and arrow setup you use and if you worry about bare shaft tuning ect
I think you're absolutely correct on your determination that it's a wash. I'm 53 and have been saddle hunting for 4 years. Definitely a subjective, not one size fits all argument. If I'm heading in a long way, one stick because it's lighter (at least my set up). If I'm hunting public on a short trek in, maybe multi stick. One sticking is slightly more physical than multi sticking. I'm in very good shape, but it's true. Especially if you're trying to make the most of your moves while one sticking. I think people have to experiment and see what works for them. Everything from different types of saddles, to platforms, and sticks. To say one system is the best is simply saying it's the best for you.
It baffles me how you don't have more subscribers. Your video quality is phenomenal, and you provide quality content. It seems that most people these days want quick hitting and meaningless content with no educational value. Keep up the good work and I will patiently await your future videos.
@@NewDayOutdoors thank you for such a fast reply because I was just about to order without it because I was unsure but, you cleared that up for me first. 👊🏽
Derek, glad to see you on camera. No one ever said life would be easy. I have been following your escapades (hunting related and the S&S) for a few years now and I think you do a marvelous job. I have enjoyed watching your family grow up and your hunting and product videos. Don’t let others pressure you into pushing out content just to have it out there. Excellent content occasionally is better than constant content just for content sake. Keep your chin up, you will get through this patch…and be better for it.
I’ve thought about giving it up several times my channel is very small but i try putting a variety of stuff on there. But i have fun with it. I enjoy your S&S videos
Derek, I hear you about needing to step away. I think a lot of people don't realize the amount of work that goes into creating content. We are still here to see what you have going on. Can't wait to see what you create this year. Keep pressing on. I might make the trip out to Kalamazoo. I'll let you know if i make it out there and maybe we can meet in person.
Always loved your stuff Derrick. The fire will come back. I film too however im not publishing my stuff its just for me and family and friends. Its a tremendous commitment to film and edit never mind dealing with sponsors and everything that goes with that. I could never…. Keep producing…. Luv your stuff!
Any new Bow companies to work with? Or do you have any brand in mind? What the channel love the S&S as you said it’s your channel. We just love. Enjoy watching it from one Hoosier to another.
I wasn't looking for a bow company to work with when Athens came along, so as of right now I am just going to keep shooting their bows until the next door opens. Thanks so much for the kind words and support!
No. With a quick link you need to use something like a Flexi Ohm Tether Locker made by Innovating The Outdoors ... easy to find on a quick Google search. I also have one-stick videos on my channel that show me using one with my quick link and rappel rope setup.
Have you one sticked with this saddle? My only concern possibly is the clips holding the adjustable bridge when rappelling . Are they plastic? I just pre-ordered the new RLX, and didn’t think about it until after. Extremely comfortable though! Keep up the videos, definitely a great source of knowledge sir!
I am a brand new saddle hunter and the loosening of the tether when tension is not being applied was my biggest fear when practicing. This alleviates so much of that fear!! Can't wait to try this out. Also, you are the only person I have seen so far that still has the plastic sleeve on the rope. I was wondering if it's better to keep this on or does it not matter? I figure it provide some extra protection from rubbing on the tree, but my plastic sleeves have started to slip out of place. Thanks!!
Spraying your dandelions😂😂…those are the first food source for pollinators coming out of a long winter. Respect all of gods creatures not just deer lol
I am leaning towards a CGM Cobra for my first saddle purchase this year. I am torn on the waist belt though. Rope belt with sliding knot. Webbing belt with D ring buckle. Upgrade to a Raptor buckle. Upgrade to a Cobra buckle with D ring like a riggers belt for a secondary safety option… Any guidance or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks
