I don’t understand how this route could be included in any video as a “trail run”. This is all about mountain climbing. Not even a hike. Where’s the running? Where’s even the walking, which is included in a an “ultra”?
Huge swathes of people these days are infinitely less intelligent than a fart who blindly venture into the unknown, or anything highly dangerous and potentially fatal. If you’re contemplating this, you need to have above average physical strength in your legs, arms, and hands; plus you body weight needs to be as low as possible ie 10 Stones if you’re an adult, so that should you be in the unfortunate situation where you are hanging off with your hand, you can haul yourself up to safety. Lastly you need a pair of decent hiking boots, and suitable leather gloves. if you don’t have all of the above don’t attempt it.
The view might be realistic due to the lens used; but it doesn’t change the fact that if one fell off either side one would suffer a horrific death. I had to switch off this video after 3 minutes as it gave me vertigo whilst seated in my armchair.
Cheers Richard. I've just bought a used one. The model wasn't named and I kinda hoped. it was the Kestral. Turns out it's a Woodlark. I'm still chuffed with it, as it will be great for hardier use. After seeing your video, I'm still happy as my head isn't like a Melon 😉 It's in the wesher at the moment and will try some Grangers or Nikwax to give it some assistance. Being quite old, is it still in use? Respectful Regards Chiseller 👍
Excellent video. In the USA we call limbing etc a downed tree “Bucking”. Don’t ask me why. I will now snatch your Brit word and try it on my dad. He may look at me funny. Thants OK. 🤣😂👍
While much of what you say may be relatively true for the weekenders use I have arthritis in my hands and can't use those wonderful strikers without intense discomfort due to their small size. A knife handle is much easier to grasp without pain. That is also why I use 5 or 6 inch fero rods instead of little ones
Suggestion for using any axe Years back I was with some young children wanting to learn how to use an axe, Even the parents learned something, Never when splitting wood on a stump or on the grd, Never make a round hous swing Learn to bring the axe over your head and then pull straight down so the axe head travels straight into the wood If you miss, Where does the axe end up If you glance off something, It goes side ways, and it can never go towards ones self/ Then if your axe is in the wood, and you can lift it up to try and pound it down as you did I would say NOT good, The trick is to lift the wood with the axe in it straight up, Turn it over in the air and bring it down on the head, Now you will also notice when you do that You will realize the axe comes straight down just as I mentioned I hope you see the proper way to use any axe except a double headed axe as one should still only learn to bring the axe down in a straight line

Im watching this because i started cutting a tree how i thought was correctly (it was), and my dad corrected me and told me if i did cut it down, it would hit something. He was wrong. I was right. He was dumb. I was smart.
Great for the price but it just looks awkwardly out of focus at what should be really straightforward ranges for a device like this. I would find this lack of manual focus really frustrating if they're all locked slightly out of focus right out the box.
