Thanks for stopping by and checking out our channel. American Girl Dolls helped form a connection between my now teenage daughter and many years ago. Our journey started when she was just 4 years old and received TM #49 as a gift (we still have her!). So we are 14 years into sharing our love and passion for everything AG related and FINALLY started this YT channel so we can share our huge collection, opinions, dressing up dolls, dolly lifestyle, our doll mansion that includes 13-17 room depending on how we structure the room size, unboxing/hauls (we buy WAY too much and absolutely LOVE buying from Etsy, etc. We also have an Etsy Shop as well and our shop name is YourDollySuperstore and Instagram and our handle is AGTV4Life.

The content on our channel is intended for Adults and NOT for children.

OK, I read through all the comments to make sure I wasn't being redundant, but I don't think I see it noted anywhere else. I believe you put the white plastic cups in backwards when you put them back in the limbs. I was worried they were going to come out because of that, but she looked solid and good as new, so maybe it's not as critical as I'd assumed to put them back in the same way AG does. Also...holy crap are you prepared. I can't believe you were able to do that while ON VACATION. Did you take magic eraser with you everywhere you go? I'm impressed, Jo! And lastly, my 4.5 yr old usually doesn't show an interest in agtube but she really liked that you showed *videos* of the dolls on the beach and commented that "people usually put pictures but not videos. I like it."
@AGTV4Life
@AGTV4Life 2 дня назад
Oh my goodness, I put the cups in backwards, well, that tells you how often I do this sort of thing lol. Hopefully I’m not going to have any problems. If not, I’ll have to take her part apart again. Funny about the magic eraser ~ believe it or not, I found it at a small grocery store on the island. Thank you for sharing that your kiddo watched my video and enjoyed it. 🥰

I am ashamed to say I have passed that museum several times and never thought to stop thank you for reintroducing it to me I will check it out. I may even take the twins. Tenement fires were common an often fatal. lol you rock talking to her like that educate the masses. I like the washboard I had one of those as a child. We called it a juking board. The name is related to the motion of washing/rubbing the clothes on the boar I have never taken a real trip with my dolls. The guy on the railroad is texting his friends about you. Great video.

I love history museums. I have also been collecting American Girl since my three daughters (now 37, 41, and 42) were little - beginning with Pleasant Company. I couldn’t afford the accessories at that time so I poured over the catalog and made replicas of the items. I have early Samantha, Kirsten and Felicity dolls in mint condition. I also created an Outlander doll and purchased Tenney and her stage when she was released. I want to build a huge house but just don’t have the space for it so I created foldable sets and furnishings for 20+ different rooms. I just photograph them, and then disassemble them. It is such a fun hobby! Great tour!

If someone had been that rude to me I would have informed her that Addy was an American Girl doll born in 1855 and would have been 14 years old in 1869. I'm not familiar with Addy's story but I would have educated the woman about why you had her with you during this tour. I didn't get into history (I was more of a math and science person) when in grade school long before AG dolls were made but I would have told her that American Girl dolls gave a lot of young girls an interest in History with their dolls, stories, and time periods. Educating ignorant and rude people is more effective and she might have actually apologized for her behavior. Never had Borsch so don't know if I'd like it or not. I do like beets but if it has tomatoes in it I might not like it. I've had Gazpacho (in Spain) and love that (I know it's not the same but that is tomato based.).
@AGTV4Life
@AGTV4Life 6 дней назад
Hi! Trust me, I did give her an education and she was rude throughout the discussion and at a certain point I realized that "educating" her wasn't worth my energy so I just disengaged. You are spot on and completely right! After I "educated" the person at the front desk who wanted me to put Addy in the locker that person had a change of heart and totally understood why I brought Addy to the exhibit. Typically there are no tomatoes in borscht and you can eat it cold or hot, but my preference is hot. I appreciate your comments :)

What a wonderful tour of the museum exhibit. I am glad you were able to take photos and to take Addy through the exhibit with you. She was the perfect guest to connect with her 1864 history and the real items in her collection! I am glad the museum was able to understand Addy’s place in history and see her more than just an unnecessary toy. I don’t know what was up with the woman who was rude to you other than not understanding why an adult would have a doll in public and not knowing how to react when she saw you. I live in New Mexico and have Josefina and her whole collection. El Rancho de Las Golondrinas is the living history museum near Santa Fe that was used to research her story. My Josefina has been there once. I have had other dolls there regularly, including taking my CYO to the Santa Fe Renaissance Faire. If anyone is interested, I have a few slideshow videos on my RU-vid channel.

I took Luciana to Cocoa Beach, Florida. Cocoa Beach is right near Cape Canaveral. We went to a satellite launch in early 2020, just before COVID lockdowns. I was trying to get a shot of Luci standing in the water when a wave took her out. Luckily, she fell backwards and only got a little wet. I just undressed her to get the wet suit off and let her sun dry. I don’t think I did anything else. If I had a doll get totally wet like you did, I’d do exactly as you did, unstuffed her and unstring her. I’d wash her either by hand or in a washing machine (stuffing goes in a lingerie bag). Dry inside of limbs do not mold grows and then restring and restuff.
@AGTV4Life
@AGTV4Life 8 дней назад
That was a pretty cool experience to go to watch a launch! After reading your comments, you totally get what I was going through to a certain degree and you came up with a good plan if your girl got soaked like mine. AG doesn’t use the metal crimp rings anymore. They just tie knots to attach the limbs. That’s why newer folks get loose limbs so fast. My first new dolls that I got in 2009 came straight from AG with knots and loose limbs. I restrung them and used crimp rings and knots. So your doll might not have been rehabbed before, just came from AG that way. Sophie looks better than ever!

Thank you and Thanks for sharing that information with me. I didn’t realize that they don’t use crimps anymore. Which is quite natural for me since I don’t take my dolls apart and restring them often because they don’t get played with enough to get loose limbs.

Well, I guess since your main collection is historical and they already have names along with the girls of the year there would be no need for you to have to name your dolls. It can be a pretty daunting task and I admire people that name many dolls, and can tell you that will not be me. I have a handful of dolls in my mind that I want to assign names to in addition to the ones who already have names so basically the truly me or custom dolls. Thankfully, I didn’t have to take her eyes out because (I didn’t show you guys this) I was banging her head around to get the sand out and I used Q-tips to work around the eye sockets to get it out as well.
