Let me tell you part of their secret: they sing together. Notice that they hold the m on "some" in the first "You're nobody till sommmmebody loves you." Then on the next "some", they make the m short with a tiny rest after it. And they all sing the m's for exactly the same time. Things like that happen throughout the song. When a line ends, they all stop singing at the same instant. They are listening to each other, and the result is very professional.
While listening, it became apparent to me that there were other instruments accompanying the fellows. In no way could a single guitar give the sound that's produced here. No matter, the Mills Bros. were nothing less than fantastic. Good beat, great for dancing, or just singing along.
My goodness, Art Monk said...." That is who kept me always practicing"..... Dorothy Donegan is an icon of a player after Glen Gould, period !!!!!!! Say what you will, I'll take Bach, Vivaldi and the players Gould and Donegan , bring it !!!!!
There is nothing more terrifying than Bill Cosby standing over you with a lit phallic symbol repeating several times, "We're going to get you." He goes from "goofball trying to be corny" to "a perverted Batman villain saying, with pure confidence, you will not escape him". It's just so unnerving!
Crazy stories. ALWAYS, make sure everyone is on the same page. Right thumb was lanced open to the bone in 3 places, on a spinning-down Derale Tornado 16" fan. Thought it was a yellowjacket sting, till I flung blood everwhere. Off to the Emerg for them to scrub with iodine and use Vietnam Superglue stitches. Could have saved $600 if I had it on hand, so to speak. Now, I do.
Probably around 1972-1973, his “Inside the Mind of Bill Cosby” standup LP (1972) has a similar afro and his 1973 comedy album “Bill” has him with a mustache on the cover
This commercial i saw when watching Nostalgia Critics video about Bill Cosby commercials made me think of Saddams "We are gonna get cha" from the South Park movie. Now i know that it took inspiration from this commercial. 🤣
