I love collecting antique bottles and I love history. I found that one of my favorite parts about bringing home a new bottle was finding out the story: who made it, what kinds of things were going on at the time, what is actually in the bottle? I love searching through ancestry records and newspapers to find out about our person. Usually there are some interesting twists and turns in the story, and thats my favorite part. We have seen some VERY interesting ways people have died, we've seen some really happy stories, and some really sad ones. But I think thats what we cling to. They were people, and had problems that we have today. We can relate to them on a more personal level. My hope by making this channel, is that when you pick up a bottle, (whether you dig for them or buy them), you can come here and learn the story, and then that bottle you are holding becomes a little piece of history, and maybe it means a little more to you than just holding a bottle. Happy Hunting!
I bought a “Drink Dr. Browns Sarsaparilla relieves fatigue” mirror. Yesterday. Looked all over the interwebs. THANK YOU for your research. Maybe one day I’ll find a bottle to go with it. 😁
Every baby-boomer fron the NYC area knows that "Beverages by Hoffman" were the sponsors of the Joe Franklin Show ("Down Memory Lane") for many years. I remember them promoting their home delivery service, which was not available where I lived.
Thanks for posting this video. Your videos are always so interesting and enjoyable to watch. I would love to see you do a video on Orangette Lemonette soda. I have always wondered why the bottles had both names on it. I would like to see Grapette soda as well. Thanks so much!
I actually used to have the set: grapette, lemonette, and orangette, and i sold them before i started this channel. Hm.. Ill throw them on the "to-do"list.
I recently unexpectedly found an antique Polio vaccine vial bottle with original box. Still sealed in mint condition. So difficult finding a value. I put it up on Ebay a few days ago. I guess we will see what happens.😀
Hi! My husband metal detects and found a really cool green Ennis Bros bottle which, when googling, brought us here! Thanks for the informational video. Sadly, no date on our bottle. Hoping to find more information on these!

That's an interesting story. You have done a great job. Thank you. Recently I received a bunch of old bottles including a Wampole recovered from various old construction sites around Vancouver BC.

Pretty interesting, thanks for sharing! That checkerboard pattern was also used for a Peru Illinois Star Union Bottling Works art deco 20's/30's soda. I imagine there would be other different bottles but that Utica is now the only one I've seen. I'll have to dig out one of the Peru bottles and compare the base markings.
Found a fully embossed bottle under my house. I knew it was early because it didn't have "It's Good" yet and found the patent date decoded on antique bottles .net- 1935-1942 style! Interesting background video!
@BottleMininganAntiques yeah it is a cool bottle. I am proud to own it. She said it's a rare one too. Score! I am the on who gave her the pictures of my bottle.
