Le nombre de fois que j'ai transité par Mulhouse & Belfort , aller comme retour , pour me rendre de Sélestat à Toulon & vice-versa, de nuit, hé oui! Ce fût toute une époque où il y avait encore des trains de nuit et que tous les compartiments étaient pleins et pour dormir, c'était au sol dans le couloir.
Great footage, thank you for sharing. I travelled this route after catching the Glacier Express to Zermatt in May last year, it is nice to revisit the journey from a different perspective.

After a few of your videos I realized why your direction compass doesn't make sense to me. Having used compasses a lot, for me the red arrow always has to point north, so if the train turns to the west, the arrow 'turns right' to keep pointing north. Only now I realized that your arrow is not a compass needle, it's the direction the train is moving, so when the train turn to the west, the arrow turns left, to the west... Probably most people think this is obvious 😅
Thank you for your comment. Surprising your reaction but very fair. These are measurements built into the GoPro camera. The trace at the bottom right of the screen is oriented to the north which may help you. Good remark.

@@markrgoodspeed Reason why I wrote in the description: Filmed using a GoPro, the GPS speed and altitude indications are not precise. Displayed for information purposes, there may be inconsistencies with the speed and actual route of the train.
Understood, and I didn't mean to be overly critical - it's a great video and interesting to see the changes since I was last there - but for me the vertical chart was distracting as it didn't really reflect the real gradients.

I love corails at high speed, the feeling of speed is quite impressive. What I noticed taking this line is that the trains quite often decelerate quite quickly down to <160kmh, speed up to 200, then decelerate again, only to speed up again, without any holding station nearby, and i think to myself: what a waste of energy. The brakes are quite powerful, I can smell the burn every time inside the coach. Love it.
Thank you for your comment. In fact, it regularly happens that the speed must be reduced <160km/h. Most often this is due to an infrastructure breakdown, the passing of a “P” sign (pre-announcement) or a traffic light indicating “flashing green”. As a result, the conditions for traveling at a speed > 160km/h are no longer met.

@@helvetie I was only commenting on the editing out of the tunnels. Yes, ok, nothing to see inside tunnels but for me it breaks up the journey unnecessarily and makes the journey incomplete. I appreciate that it is just a personal observation and does not represent the views of the majority of your viewers. I can see that otherwise it is obviously an excellent video, very well produced and I do appreciate the work that has gone into producing it.
@@phil7794 At the beginning and end of the recording I had problems receiving the GPS signal on the camera. This is visible on the published route. Reason why I exceptionally cut these passages. Thank you for your compliments.
@@helvetie I was basing my observations on the assumption that it was just a straight forward recording and was not based on having a GPS signal, therefore recording inside tunnels was not possible, so thank you for pointing that out.

Magnifique vidéo et super qualité ! Dites à 7:39 est-ce un rattrapage KVB dû à une transition entre la zone à VL200 et celle à VL160? On voit pas la pancarte P sur le premier tableau mais uniquement sur la 2e je pense que c’est lié mais pourrions nous avoir confirmation ? Merci beaucoup et super boulot comme d’habitude !
GoPro 10 black Je ne recommande pas car je peux filmer que 30 à 45 mn max après elle chauffe et s'éteint. Raison pour laquelle j'ai du arrêter à Colmar 😡 (pour cette fois).
