It's not impossible for Norris to catch Verstappen, but with 6 races to go, he needs to score and average of 8.6 points per race without Verstappen scoring a single point, and that's just to draw level. Then he needs to out score Verstappen in each race on top. Whilst Verstappen, even in a car that's going backwards, in performance terms, is still capable of scoring 8 plus points per race, that means Norris cannot be off the podium for the next 6 races beating Verstappen every time! Not impossible, but the F1 equivalent of climbing and conquering Mount Everest. If Norris were in this same points situation going into the Dutch Grand Prix, then I'd say he had a very good chance of winning the title. Don't scream, shout and bump your gums about team orders in Hungary, and Piastri at Monza, they were both perfect examples of how Norris had the races to win and he lost them! Norris over the next 6 races has to dominate every race, and literally push all, including Piastri and verstappen to one side with championship winning killer instinct, the stuff Piastri showed Norris in Monza. If he doesnt, then he can say goodbye to the 2024 championship.
Would be funny if MBS also got community service or some sort of cultural competency training as punishment for the racial innuendo of saying we are not rappers 😆
Any half decent forecast should have been able to see that redbull with 1 driver was gambling away the constructors.... Sergios 2nd half of szn last year was pathetic....the only way to explain this for redbull is the funding tied to checo having the seat far exceeds the funding delta they lose from falling from 1st to 2nd/3rd in constructors...
Max's punishment for swearing comes on top of Red Bull scolding him publicly for playing video games the night before a race. They're treating a world champion like a teenager. No wonder he's frustrated.
you have to admit seeing seb being lapped in some races, making mistakes because the car was bad wasnt the best image for the levels Seb hit. Wasnt quite Ricciardo levels but was still bad. He had some excellent races after announcing retirement but doesnt really reflect the entire time after Ferrari.
I do think sportsmen do have a certain responsibility , children watch this sport as well as adults , their not stupid. They know what it means when the sound is bleeped out
I'll say about the fastest lap... if I was likely racing my last gp and out of any contention for points, I'd 100% go for the fastest lap to finish off my career. I'm not actually convinced he wouldn't have gone for it regardles.
So much of Max's behaviour is rebellious attention seeking....he's always 'pulling a wheelie' on track or in press conferences and non-conforming. This is his upbringing unfortunately without consequence. He isn't really an adult mentally, he was in F1 when he was a kid afterall.
The 2nd team discussion is only an issue among pundits. The extra point situation has nothing to do with RedBull’s team ownership. It’s just a farcical ridiculous option.
I can't believe they are discussing this so theoretically, what about if they equal? Max's behaviour will totally change. They've not mentioned that at all.
I'm half wondering if the reason they've kept Checo is because they want the extra aero testing time of coming 3rd instead of 1st or 2nd. Clearly it's been hurting them this year to have the least testing allocation. At this point, if Max has a single DNF when Lando wins the race, that's half the point deficit gone. Max is gonna be so pissed if there is a mechanical failure and it costs him this championship. Nico is wrong about not being able to put tires into numbers. We totally could do that, we could simluate everything perfectly, it would take several of the world's fastest supercomputers to run it in real time but it's perfectly doable. But, it still wouldn't be the same because there is simply no way to properly simulate the gforces of a moving vehicle.
I don’t understand why people complain about Red Bull having 2 teams, when they could have sunk this ship when they wanted to buy the 2. team years ago, why complain just now (in the last few years) but fine, and for the mistake that Lando made, If he got a dnf and Max won, then the championship is over ,so it was not a small thing Imo
Rosberg and Villeneuve as part of the permanent SkysportsF1 line up would be great with Collins. But they wont. They'll still keep Croft, Princess Pinkham, Brooks and Lazenby.
i love listening to Nico Rosberg. Say what you will, his battles with Lewis were one of the best rivalries we had in F1. And as you can see a person cannot be judged during race or what they say on the radio, when outside f it, they are all just....human
redbull should be forced to sell their 2nd team to andretti, bringing in a new manufacturer who can capitalise on the still untapped US Market would be amazing for the sport!!!
FIA or the 7th century dictator bin sandman? He seems to think F1 is now his fiefdom. No other president of the fia has behaved like this, an arrogant fame wh*re.
