I used to lift weights regularly, which is especially important now that I hit 50. My mom has Alzheimer’s and I took care of her until I couldn’t any longer and now I want to get back into exercising and I find myself making excuses. Lauren, I need help to help myself. Do you have meditations on this subject?

Culture is the collective results of a sociological group or community based upon their rules their intellectual aspects their shared customs that helps make their group meaningful. What we typically do as fallable creatures is become xenophobic of others cultures. We also place judgements about our own and theirs as to superiority worthiness and value. This leads to conflict. Religion and culture are synergistic to both creating healthy loving relationships or crusades and destruction of the others. We choose how to accept and balance our relationships to our culture and embrace those aspects that further our collective growth. When we don’t our culture becomes doomed to irrelevance.
I mean, saying American culture sucks doesn't really narrow it down, where in America? In the US? Where in US? South? North? East? West? Northeast etc. Culture in the US is very diverse depending on where you go, that is why opinions and beliefs in the US clash so much and so often. Boiling it down to "It sucks." just doesn't mean anything.
