Very good! Papangu is very incredible, this album is one of the best this year. Their first album is fantastic too, it doesn't have that jazz feel but it's very original. When you can, listen to the album Baleia Explode by the band Tela Azzu. Band from the same state as Papangu here in Brazil. Hugs!
Thanks a lot for the recommendation! Papangu’s first is definitely more aggressive but honestly I like the newest even more. PS There is a one forgotten Brazilian band I would like to tell about but maybe later, avant garde black metal stuff :3

No problem, Nightmare Utopia was my first review here (it’s been already 2 months lol). Then I didn’t pronounce the name well but anyway this is still one of my fav albums from this year
ive listened to it twice so far and my impressions are that it's definitely more of a grower and it wasn't as good a first listen as his last solo album. the more rock inspired production is somewhat interesting but definitely less attractive to me than the production on his other albums. i'm sure that as i listen to this thing more i'll find what i'm looking for. some tracks i like: "either on and off the drugs" which is absolutely beautiful. love the sample and warm beat and his flow in the first half is super catchy with some great bars. "i recovered from this" is surprisingly honest and chilled out and i enjoy the production with the pretty guitar and heavenly vocals layered throughout. "new black history" is awesome and has that hyperactive gremlin energy i love from peggy with a fun verse from vince. loving the beat here with the sampled future hook setting the vibe.
Yeah, that rock/metal production is obviously cool and makes this album different from the others but it might be less attractive even for me as I listen to cavernous metal all the time, and that’s why I like Scaring the Hoes more for example :3
For obvious reasons, I might be biased to comment on this review as a whole - but this guy surely drawn my attention to Czernina and the release is a killer!
if you want to listen to something even better and a little similar then check out Kvadrat’s Horrible Dissonance of Oblivion. Great dissonant black with wild drum arrangements. There will be also a review of it I guess! And thanks for the kind words
