Wow! More people should get to know you! You have musicianship of a kind mostly lost today and probably the best-sounding fortepiano from that period I have ever heard. Who restored it?
Superb on every relevant level: pianist, this extra-rare instrument, acoustics and recording quality. Congratulations to all participants! This recording should be advertised much more. Does this immensely musical pianist also play Schubert, who composed on this make of piano?
Wat mooi, Trudelies. Volgend jaar word ik 80. Jij bewijst dat je op oudere leeftijd nog heel goed kan spelen. Ik ga proberen datzelfde bewijs te leveren.
This is such masterful music-making. It's a lesson to all of us in phrasing, taste, voicing, rhythm, tempo and letting music breathe. I haven't heard these wonderful pieces (from Schubert's incredible last year) played better.
Agreed! I have her recording of D. 946. Some years ago, Globe started recording every solo keyboard piece by Schubert played by Trudelies Leonhardt on appropriately historical pianos. I have much of the set; does anyone know if they ever finished?
