Large Oilrig.. you miss out the part where you all hazed him mercilessly every minute of his time with you and you hated him just because he was not Cliff.. Cliff would have been so ashamed of all you for how sh!tty you were to Mr Newsted all that time in your digs and verbal abuse and even cutting him from the mixes etc
In all fairness, their music used to be amazing, but the early stuff kinda attracted some very toxic people. I moved around a lot, and every group had at least one. The rest of us were just disillusioned, angry kids who knew real music when we heard it, but there was always at least one legit scary dude. Slayer fans were about 50/50 tho. 😂
They went to college in Europe cuz that's where they rented the haul. Then Howard fell in love with James and Kirk went into a depression and started fucking lars then Jason said...ok I thought I joined Metallica, not another joto commune. That's when the fans got all depressed and it was actually Sam the said fuck it I wanna rock, so now Metallica is called were not gonna take it and play covers of twisted sister.
Lars was always the biggest POS in this band... and that's from a lifelong Metallica fan. He was the most egotistical, narcissistic primadonna and James and Kirk enabled him. Cliff would have been the one guy that would have put him in his place, but that is only something we can speculate. Jason was a great bass player and loved Metallica... and they treated him like a worthless weekend fill-in roadie. Still love the music and Justice is my second favorite album. Shame they toned down Jason's wicked bass licks out of spite for being nothing but a dedicated fan and bandmate.
Still making excuses Lars? You were equipped to see that, you're just a selfish SOB. Decades later you make excuses like a millenial professional victim.
I think many of us picked up on his discontent before anyone in the band even did. Which is sad. All the documentaries and backstage footage i could get hold of as a superfan back in the 90s, there would always be at least one scene that made me think "why doesJason seem to feel like he doesn't quite fit in properly?" He seemed a little awkward and often distant from the other three
They did this stuff when they were younger and were dealing with the loss of Cliff. Now they’ve matured and can look back and say yeah, we screwed up. Respect.
I remember listening to ‘Justice’ for the first time - I was 18 and it was just released - and wondering why it sounded so thin. Years later I figured it out - duh. Imagine what that album could have been.
Robert doesnt even compare. Jason had the intensity, and energy. And his backing vocals were so good, that not even both Robert and Kirk together can match him. You fucked up, Metallica.
Bob Rock was such douchebag. He was one of the biggest issues Metallica had and it took them so long to figure that out. I remember fuckin hating that tool even back in the day when all this was going on.
