Born in Congo and raised in France, Chris the mad hi has always had a deep passion for music. From a young age, he was drawn to the intricate beats and grooves of hip hop and electronic music. After self studying beat making Chris Tmh began to hone his skills as a beat maker, focusing on the gritty, dark sounds of boom bap.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of J Dilla, Madlib, and MF DOOM, Chris developed a unique style that blends old-school boom bap with modern electronic elements. His beats are characterized by heavy drums, haunting melodies, and intricate sampling, creating a sound that is both timeless and cutting-edge.
has always been a fan of vintage analog equipment and the warm, rich sound it produces. One of my favorite tools is the Akai MG614, a classic four-track cassette recorder that was popular in the 80s.
Chris remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He is constantly pushing himself to explore new sounds and techniques.
The new mixer is really good . I was scared , I even buy an mpc one to be able to play my old project easily. But in fact I didn’t ever use it and start to convert my mpc 2 project in 3
Yo! Fire as usual! I mysefl was able to snatch 500 some time ago and really dig the little box. Makes you really focus on sample selection and sound design. I really like the sound you get out of it. You understand hiphop very well. Glad to follow you! Also these tutorials been very helpful, keep them coming G!
I remember when i first got the 500 and i heard it go sp1200 on me . at the time I had 2 sp1200's and traded it in . Cut to 2024 , i'm buying another ,
Great demo thanks for sharing. Does it get power from that one cable aswell? Nice to have a distortion on a reverb. The pitch shifting ones sound good as too
Yo Chris - how do you have 10+ mins of sampling time available? Is there a way to route sampling recording to my SD rather than internal so I have more available sample time? At the moment, I have approx 60s of sampling time available within each project, which is pretty easily used up, leaving me no space to 'sample' a a finished track as a whole? Thanks for all your vids again man, they're super dope and informative. Peace
The akai mg614 is 6 tracks mixer and 4 tracks tape recorder. The mb76 is a audio mixing bay which can be midi controlled as the peq 6 a 6 way parametric eq
