Wasn’t Fight club ,….a love story tho?….i never once heard them say incell type rhetoric in the movie even the woman comment was about a father figure not a lover
So a dirty cop!! ABUSING there power for money manipulating its citizens for profiting even at a young age!! using the dare program to tawlk to 3rd graders about drugs who never would know what that means! Picking who you take advantage of to make money off of like your elitist!! Your a backwater town and you are not shit but ready to clear out keep giving more and more evidence!!! Are you saying that I had something to do with that show? Are you admitting something like a crime of taking advantage of someone? Are you saying you are a switness to me on set of that show? What are you adniting to the relevance of me and a network tv show publicly owned and union protected has to do with me? A none SAG member with job and paid taxes history of employment have to do with this show? You have to answer the question
I use the tried and true Lest Dent pulp structure to create a huge pile of fiction and basic essay form for nonfiction. You have to have at least enough to have your computer read out loud for, say, 36 hours before you get to the point where you can really understand that you have enough material to build with. Tell story after story, personal essay after essay, joke after joke, work to understand grammar, and how to really use your word processor. Learn to give dictation and slam it out. Be the room full of monkeys. Then, figure out what you want to tell the world about and who you want to listen to your writing in that world. And remember, no matter how hard you work, there may never be something that sells. Your work will, first and foremost, be for your own entertainment.
9:13 THIS!!!!! Part of what manga the best best it's that they focus on writing smart characters and smart sitations/mind games even if looks unrealistic or break some writer rule. You can see very obvious exposition at times or if youre togashi long explanation but you accept cause IT'S GODDAMN GENIUS or just very intriguing.
Rule number one is to simply try to have some god damn fun! If you absolutely want to write, it's because you've watched hundreds and hundreds of films and TV series. You've probably already read hundreds of scripts too. Rather than trying to break everything down into sequences and acts, why not simply start with the first image of the film that you see in your head and go from there? The curtains open, the MGM logo appears with Leo the lion roaring. The screen is black. and what do we see next? What do we hear? Put on some good jazz music and prepare a pot of coffee. And then, what's next? As the scenes progress, you go back and rearrange certain things so that everything seems to fit together. And there you have it. This way, you have fun and you discover the story as you move along. It's always fresh. I tried to dissect everything before really writing and each time, it kills the inspiration and you end up getting tired of your own story. Start with the first sequence and discover the thread of events as you go. Don't worry, the old reflexes of screenwriters will be there along the way. Have fun.
I just finished it the other day. She didn't write Little Women at all, she butchered the text to shoe in her own messaging on gender politics when it wasn't necessary. She even fucks up the actual history about the publication for that message. I had seen this before Barbie, I probably would have been better prepared for what to expect from Greta's writing. I am so terrified for the Narnia series 🫠 Shit isn't broken but she feels the need to fix it in order to make it worse.
chase sounds like he invented the Mafia / Gangster genre. obviously sooner or later after Casino and Scarface Godfather sooner or later there would be a big tv smash that basically is the same general genre
So, there doesn’t seem to really be a one-size-fits-all system for screenwriting, and I seem to be experiencing a dialectical of hating that and being comforted by it at the same time. It’s like we all want to be the same and different at the same time(in the context of how we do things). Anyone else struggling with why everything is always a case-by-case basis?
what proves their work was done brilliantly is that people actually love walter and hate skyler cause the show brings us into the eyes of walter it is not until you watch clips of walter white, after you finish the show outside of the attachment to walt during the watch, that you really realize.. walter white is revealed for the ego guy he really is.. from the eyes of the people hes interacting with
Don likes winning strangers over because in a world where you feel like a Stranger everyone is a potential friend. Very Gemini. I knew Don was written to be a Gemini and in one show his birthday was revealed to be on 6/6 . Thats when i knew you guys were good writers. I thought Jon Hamm was an actual Gemini, he played it so well. So i looked it up and he’s a Pisces, also a dual sign , so that’s why he plays Gemini so well.
Lost teaches us that if a Series depends-as Lost does -upon three and four hour long, independently produced RU-vid videos to explain it, then at some point the "storytelling" has failed.
One of the best shows of all time!! People are always confused when I tell them my two favorite shows are Succession and Twin Peaks but it's true they're just both perfect ❤
The normal person finds himself as being a bad, that’s main line of the story and all other flesh and bones were from collaboration with other writers. And they made entire scenes with cards. that’s really big.
I started to write instinctively like Alex Garland, because that's how my mind and brain work. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean my stories are good yet 😂
Breaking Bad in a Country with Free Health Care: Doctor: "Sir you have Lung cancer". Walter: "OMG I am going to have to resort to selling Meth to pay the bills". Doctor: "No, No, all of your treatments will be covered, it won't cost you or your family anything" - End of Show.
Wow, this guy can write. T'hat is what Hollywood is now missing. When a show consistantly makes you feel something and remember your life, that is all about writing. It is such good writing I actually pity Don Draper, he has the world and he has none of it.
Instead of selling my scripts I'd rather be part of the project that develops the scripts into films or shows. Do you have any videos that delve into that concept? thankyou! ~Mike
