Thats strange...on my Gallardo i can asjust the clutch pedal. I had to when i replaced the master cylinder locatwd above the pedal. Our gated manual gear boxes look identical. Mine is Grazio, but Lambo uses many VAG parts
I do want to commend you on a well presented and explained video you made, as well as a SUPER CLEAN reinstallation of everything and staying organized. Keep it up!
Another PRO TIP. After installing a PTFE seal, you must turn the crank by hand 2-3 revelutions in order to "set" the PTFE seal. It will transfer some of the low friction materieal onto the crank which will createa low friction 2 part PTFE seal. After cranking, let sit for a minimum of 4 hours to set before starting the motor. AGAIN Its imperative that you install PTFE seals DRY on BOTH sides. They are not like traditional seals that require grease. ASE Master mechanic 30+ years, logo worn on the sleeve proudly!
DO NOT put grease on the flywheel bolt head seats. Yes in theory it will help with ease of torqing (do not put on thereads as it will give you inaccurate torque spec readings) , but when the flywheel heats up, the grease will liquify and fling all over the clutch and cause PREMATURE CLUTCH FAILURE. I am an ASE mechanic with over 30 years experience.
The correct answer is ZERO grease on any sides of the PTFE seal. ZERO. It must be dry on both sides and cleaned with brake cleaner. Using ANY grease on it will compromise the seal and it will LEAK!
i came acros this guy. the only video that shows a audi q5 b9.5 front bumper removal. he only removed a couple screws from the sides, above and under and got the bumper. i would like to know what your take on this is? could that a possibility: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Mc_RyumaE0.html
You are a hero! i was looking for this for so long. i am going to do the same myself. i am looking al over the place for the installation instructions service manual of this specific job. Can you help me out and tell me where i can find these kind of service manuals? Or if you have it send/share a links of any kind. If you get in touch with me that would mean a lot man. thanks!
Hey, I have been following your amazing R8 Manual conversion series and just had one question regarding the old R Tronic wiring harness. What did you do with all the redundant connections? Did you apply blanking plugs or cut the harnesses? Unless I have missed something I cannot see what you did with them.
Very interesting breakdown, and you made a great series. I’m interested in creating a plug and play swap kit by milling some of the expensive audi parts myself.
I just picked up a white 2021 Q5 and would like to do the same. Do you have link to the grille in the video? I am struggling to find. I did find the black Audi rings, which looks like you must have had to order separately from the black grille.
I'm planning to do the same thing on my car, but all I can find on the internet is without that striker plate. What does exactly this striker plate do? can I to the swap without the striker plate? Thanks
Have you ever done the air conditioner compresor on the 2012 or other ,my car has only done 42,000 km compressor is fcked ,i told Audi 6:35 ive never used it , he said thats why its broken broken broken
Congrats my man!!!!! I know I’ll pull the trigger too and step away from my R8 Spyder and jump into a cayman. Probably within the next 5 years. Love them and love your spec!
Howdy! I’m trying to upgrade my info system and now need to remove my rear shelf cover like you did here, to connect backup camera feed. How did you take the shelf cover off? I’m having trouble pulling off two anchors in the middle
Can't wait to see your new weekend car. Since you're a growing channel, I'd opt for something that's popular, and with your mechanical minded brain, you'll leap ahead of these other youtubers as most don't even know how to turn a wrench 😅
I'm doing a transmission swap on my R8 V10. You've been so helpful in more ways than one. Your videos are thorough, and your electrical harness will no doubt save me some time of building my own.
Hello First of all, I wanted to tell you that your RU-vid channel is really cool! I am also a proud owner of a 2013 audi r8 v10 plus. I wanted to ask you if you knew how to do and especially how (leave the engine compartment light) while I'm driving (when my low beam lights are on). thanks
@@ftwgarage Thanks for the info. I am looking at R8's for my next car but there are so many autos for sale. I am also looking at maybe the 987 Boxster Spyder, 981 Boxster GTS or 718 Boxster GTS.
I have a 2008 R8 V8 with the R-tronic and I have an issue with my gearbox. When I shift from 2nd to 3rd in manual mode, I hear a clunking noise from the gearbox. Its almost every time if I shift in low rpms (2000-3000) but when I shift at higher rpms, the clunking noise almost disappears. Whats your experience on noises from the gearbox?
The gearbox should not “clunk” at any rpm range. I would check the transmission mounts first. If they are okay, then the clunk may be related to the throw out bearing.
Congratulations🎉 super excited to have you be a part of a very small set of folks who have done the gated conversion on the R8. More importantly happy and excited to see next steps and know we are all here for ya ! 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
So glad to have met you through the R8 community Mark, and very excited for you and your next car. And remember, mine will feel basically the same if you ever want to swap keys 😂😎
As a Gated R8 owner it’s a sad day but totally get it man, spread your wings and dip your toe in to a different car…. Just be careful it’s a slippery slope :) it’s a disease that can only be cured with more money and more garage space!
Gutted that you've let go of the R8.... But as you say, life is all about experiencing new things so best of luck with the next venture. You have massively contributed to the R8 community and your videos will continue to help future generations of R8 owners, so thank you for all your hard work. Looking forward to hearing all about the new purchase!
