Okay so I've been watching and you should watch some movement guides, as for senses you'll just need to play the game more to get better, but for a solid beginner gun I suggest the Mp7 it's a PDW and it's really good.
Personally I love to use the bfg on the first map (mete is it's name I think) attachments: coyote sight (red dot) light barrel, skeleton grip and ballistics tracker or remove stock.

part of the reason why I think it failed is that it does not feel like a dmc game just a beat em up, I think you could replace Dante and Vergil with any other twins
