No thank you so much for this tutorial. I just literally got my first ever cutting machine this past weekend. Every tutorial that I see has the old version app. It's very hard to understand the process if they have a different software. I have failed and all the projects that I have been trying to do I have no idea what I'm doing. Like I said this is my first ever cutting machine.
Hi my channel is all about the scanncut and machine embroidery, Loklik sent me their machine last year and ive tried it out and its software just a few times. I only use it as a second machine but i do have a Loklik playlist on my channel, you could maybe refer back to that for help. Software for electronic cutting machines always evolves over time especially when its newish to the market. SNC did exactley the same over the years gone by. Its really just a case of having the time to play and investigate how these machines work its hard and there is a massive learning curve at first, its a process. Good luck
Thanks for showing that. I haven’t updated yet as I haven’t really heard anyone that’s very happy with it and to be honest I’ve had better results using the Loklik with Scal6. I suppose eventually we will be forced to do it. On the offset problem could you not deselect where it says round. Maybe if you uncheck the blue circle you will get angular. Just a thought. Let me know if it works.
@@applelover53 Yes, Why put in a selection button if it won’t let you deselect. Hopefully it’s just another bug that they can eventually fix. Thanks for letting me know
I am really enjoying watching your videos on LokLik. I currently use a Cricut for my small, handmade business. I needed another machine to help me out so I bought a Loklik for print and cut. I am so close to sending it back.... I can get it to print on my 270 gsm cardstock (although it prints my white tags with a grey tinge...), but I cannot get it to cut through the card. I have the 60 blade and it is on full, 11 force and it will not cut through. There is no option for cardstock when setting parameters, just vinyl, photopaper, and sticker paper. The machine looks good, but just does not work for me. Is it a case of hold out till they sort it, or is this as good as it's gonna get? 😆😆
Also, have you tried to bring up any of the designs in your library? I did and the 3 I tried all messed up. Random things on the designs were moved to other spots. They basically have to be redone. Needless to say I didnt get any work done tonight because I have to redo my designs now. Not happy...
Thanks for this Ashley, I updated mine at weekend and had a quick look at it. I didn't find all the features you've mentioned (no time) so I didn't go into the area top right where the feedback, unit etc was so never changed anything but noticed that mine now automatically open in inches in the mat unit. I wondered if this was because the machine is registered in the UK or something they'd just changed because the feedback was that we preferred inches, as would the USA if it's sold there. Agree with all your comments and I will definitely be feeding back my thoughts too. Btw I have the same issue with my fonts - I thought it was me!
Did they get rid of the dark theme? I cant seem to find it in the new update.. it doesnt have the same fonts anymore either. I just rebrand with a new font and now loklik doesnt even have that font. Ridiculous... I'm about to delete the update and go back to the old one.
No problem, if it turns out to not be enough you can always put the SVG into Canvas Workspace and and create another offset, or you should be able to do it directly on the SNC machine.
I learned to use a lint roller to pick up dots and rhinestones. Also, I needed to replace rhinestones that didn’t pick up on the transfer. I was getting frustrated until I figured this solution out. I’m using my small Cutterpiller light box with my flock template attached to a piece of transfer tape backing (so it doesn’t stick to anything). I lay the flock wrong side up and lay the design with the holes lined up on the flock. I just put a couple pieces of blue tape to hold it in place and using the tweezers I stick the missing rhinestones lined up on the pattern, wrong side up. It works so great!
You cannot print from canvas workspace unless you have got the print and cut activated. I have shown how to do print and cut using Canva and you would then need to use your scan and to do a direct facility.
Hi Ashley! My thoughts are that if you're serious about custom machine embroidery, go straight for the 6 needle machine. I have the 2nd release (before the lights and auto threading were included) and I would recommend it to anyone doing serious volume stitching. The single needle is fine for a second machine so you can stitch a little something while you sew garments or whatever but if it's the embroidered items that you want to sell and you need multiples, get the wi-fi 6 needle from a dealer if you can. I have not had a minute's trouble with mine over the years and it's got to be 12 years old now. I only wish it had wi-fi to take the SNC files. It still stitches like a dream and I just love it anyway. You will probably be able to pick up a 6 needle for around the same price as the single needle these days I would imagine because small businesses need to upsize and move to a multi head. Would I buy new? Definitely not. The cost is prohibitive with all the extra doodads they have now. Hope this helps.
Hi hope you are ok, thank you the 6 needle was my first thought, but I am semi retired now and dont really want to turn this into a big business, just a side hobby so that I can sell a few things here and there. However i did see a second hand 6 needle for sale recently and from memory i think it was a similar price to the PRX1 and it had low stitch count etc. so when i start looking at machines in person next year I will see what is available and at what price. thank you
Ashley, thank you for another fabulous video, however regarding you buying a PRX1, I think you will soon outgrow its capability and wish you had bought a 6 needle. I went from a Brother NV1 to a PR670E and really love the fact I dont have to swap out my threads..... I can l just leave it and don't have to babysit it and its Soooo easy to use....👍If youre making the move to a free arm from a flat bed....dont do it half hearted, go fir a 6 needle, it will REALLY open up another world to your creativity.....👍
Thanks for the advice, i honestly dont mind changing thread colours. If i was running a busy business then i would go for the 6 needle but Im semi retired my V5LE is actually plenty enough for me i just would like the versitility of having the free arm facility and the foot print is smaller on the PRX1 than my V5LE. Im not planning on changing until next year so I will go and look at both machines then. Thank you
@applelover53 good. Yes, I'm good too thanks. Ashley, can you access and transfer files from Artspira with your Mac? I'm due to buy myself a new computer/laptop and I'm just wondering which one between a Mac or PC would be more beneficial for the mix media of embroidery and sNc. I have just upgraded to the Brother NV2750D. It's a lovely machine with a tonne of features, but not too technical as some of the more expensive machines or too technical for me because I'm not tech savy. I know nothing about the PR machines but they look really impressive. We were at Bambers in Eccles on Saturday and my daughter left opened mouthed after looking at the PR machines. Good luck if you buy one. Sounds like it would be really beneficial for you. I remember the frustration of having to unpick the seams of a tote bag to embroider on a flatbed. 😢 That's a lovely little keyring.
I dont use Artspira but providing your machines have wifi then i think it can be done from either PC or Mac. Have fun with your new machine. I wont be changing until next year so I need to go and have a good look at the PRX1 but I think it will be what I want from what Ive seen on YT
Hes an absolute rascal, without fail everytime I start talking to record a video he runs off and gets his toy bone (those really hard ones) and starts dropping it on the floor and I have tiled floors so it makes a noise. I now have to start talking wait for his shenanigans to stop then start recordeing again. but we wouldnt be without him hes an absolute pleasure and adorable.
@applelover53 Yes, he looks adorable. I quite like a dog that's sometimes a bit of a handful. Ours is. She's a bit of a character to like Eddy. Eddy has gotten so big, but it has been a while since I last saw him. Is he heading for his 2nd birthday now? He's lovely.
Hi, that video is seven years old you don’t need the funk converter anymore. There is a canvas workspace for computer version now and it will pull all the fonts through that you have installed on your computer.
I am very interested in trying this out. I have never done any before. However I would like to do this for my daughter who has her own business for the menopause. Would I be able to ask the company to copy a photo?
Oh my goodness. I have a DX machine and I am really hoping they have envelopes on. I am dashing off to see. This would be awesome as I hate making envelopes
