So I am a complete noob when it comes to actual technical driving and by that I mean fiddling with the car as you drive ..did I understand right he turned off traction controll at that series of turns at the start...if so does he turn it back on after them ?
I really like Spa. Uphill braking zones that allow a lot of rear braking. The flat-out parts are curvy and punish you if you don't nail the line and keep the TC. All those segments are linked with a combination that forces you to rotate the car with gas and brakes and they all have different speeds. I'm slowly moving from the 19th to the 18th. But I keep two wheels between the white lines, so I don't use the cubes as much as you do.
I've been racing for a month now and I can't get under 1:50. Every lap has been within a few hundredths of a second for the last week. I will try this tonight.
Thanks the lines helped me alot. I see thw trick. Also everybody tells you brake later turn in later. When in reality it seems acc likes you braking a little earlier holding speed and turning in a little earlier coming out fast.
Buggest issue is peoppe downshifting to much on this track. I found i aas losing 1.5s by doing that. Sticking to 3rd through the track most of the time on those longer corners and the cuts works very well like you showed. Also didnt realixe i wssnt upshifting esrly when coming out of corners to help wheelspin. So thanks!
Im 3 weeks into sim racing and my record is 2:21.031. I do pretty much the same but I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I think I trailbreak with abs kicking in often what causes me understeer
Thanks for the video, it worked wonders to understand how to gain more time, I went from 2:18's to low 2:17's, and now I'm trying to perfect the lines to get into the 16's, exceptional guide!
Thank you for this video man! It really helped me to improve my lap times in this track! Hope one day you make a video giving some tips on how drive the Merc, i love the car but is really difficult to get good lap times compared with other cars, blessing fella!!
Great track guide but I have no time for folks trying to sell their setups. I realize you've probably spent a good amount of time developing them but fucked if i'm ever going to pay for a setup for a hotlap.
GTR2 I'm doing 2:17 in the Corvette C5R however that's on the 2003 track which for me has an easier bus stop chicane, the latest Spa on Asseto Corsa I find it difficult getting back on the power coming out of the bus stop chicane usually end up spinning out.
That 2nd uphill corner is killing me. Unless i roll off the throttle it either undetersteers or just spins off track... How are you able to keep full throttle thru that? (I'm using a porsche 991 btw)
I'm having the same issue. No matter which car I use. Can't go flat out or it understeers at rouge and oversteers at the top of the hill, radillon? The only way for me to make it through as close to not lifting is to do a quick blip down to 4th at the bottom of the hill to get the front end to bite in make the turn and keep the rpms up through the hill to hit 5h gear at the top of the hill.
The problem with this game is that the setup hold up to 3 secs for average and good drivers, plus its hard to make it yourself If you cant do what he does first check your setups. In every track i gained at least 2s with good setup
Nice review, covering pretty much all aspects. From my end I really like this game, especially for the driving experience and the graphics. But as you said, there are a lot of things to be developed and improved still. Let's see how the game will look like in a couple of months from now. Anyway, good luck with your exam.
