Linck systems are remarkable but the logs MUST be straight . Off to the side of the one I was watching in NW BC was a whole log chipper .might have been 108" . Brought tears to my eyes the amount of logs being chip because they were a little crooked . This is BC , lots of hills , lots of logs from the side of the hills . Logs were good enough for a conventional mill but got chipped here . Linck is best if fed plantation logs , nice a straight
Linck mills work really well with plantation logs . They don't work worth a dime on trees cut on side hills . Logs MUST be straight. W.W.W. had a 108 inch chipper to take care of the crooked logs , a crying shame , an ordinary small wood mill could have made lumber out of the logs the Linck mill was chipping . I was kinda happy when that mill shut down

I am asuming you guys are low on raw product, years ago we had chipper head to quad bandsaws to canter,(ohlstrom edger for wing boards) resaw, gang saw. This gear is made for tooth picks.Nice but more machine than timber
The logs are not sorted ahead of the sawmill. Lumber is sorted after it leaves the sawmill floor. Decker has a new sorting system that was installed after this video was made.
This section from about 1:40 to1:43 is a top-down view of the multi-function infeed to the canter. The log is being turned to the proper orientation for maximum recovery as determined by the Linck optimization software working with the data of the 3-D scanner which has determined the true shape of the log. See this video for an animation of the process ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gs5sgWg8HI8.html
