Any chance you’d let go of one of the haunted masks? Would love to add to by private collection 🥲 i wish they were all stored behind glass in temperature controlled cases so they don’t sag and crumble 😭
Thank you! I believe I used Tamiya plastics spray paint in yellow with a clear coat. He’s kind of tacky though, I’d probably just use acrylics if I did it again.
@@unorthodox4376 Maybe a vinyl paint? I will probably re paint mine in the future too. I suggest nail polish remover to remove the bad paint. That’s what I did for mine when the original paint job didn’t work.
Thank you for this fun and informative video. I have been a fan of Jim Henson's work since the early 70's when I first saw the Mahna Mahna sketch on UK tv. Moved to Canada in 73 and my children and self enjoyed Sesame street and then the Muppet show (ironically it was made in the UK thanks to a management that had approved the the likes of the Goon Show and Monty Python) So when Palisades came out with the figures and sets I started collecting them. The backstage playset had a right wing added Pop's alcove, the left side got stage right entrance added. The band has its own location in a second cabinet with a stage background and Animals drum platform illuminated with LED spot lights. Oh! Statler and Waldorf have their own box up and behind me in the office. The Palisades figures still make me smile.
I still don't get why no future adaptations of this franchise have reused this theme song in an age where Hollywood is so committed to cashing in on nostalgia that they'll include as much fanservice as possible. It's so iconic that it's become synonymous with the franchise as a whole and everyone remembers it to this day and begged for it to be in the movie and Disney+ series to no avail. At least the movie had the great Danny Elfman composing the film and his theme was catchy and nostalgic in its own way, the Disney+ series doesn't have that luxury. The musical adaptation of Phantom of the Auditorium had its own theme song that I don't care about (it does have that stage musical feel to it, but after multiple times of no one taking advantage of how iconic and popular it is, it just makes me disappointed and tired).
Maybe an odd question but what company even manufactured these? I'd go out on a limb and say Hasbro but I'm not sure and I can't find anything on the package of the one I bought a few days ago. Extremely well detailed figures, definitely a sign they wanted this thing to be as big as Star Tours was
This was at a point where Disney was at its peak. They probably had factories that only made Disney parks merchandise. These days it’s cheaper to just license things out. But back then, when they actually had money to experiment, they probably made all their own stuff. I remember growing up at Disneyland and never seeing outside labels like Hasbro on anything. All those toys ever said was “Disney” with a C for copyright.
That Miss Piggy arm is museum quality! Worth many thousands of dollars. Kermit swatch is wild, too - Antron fleece itself isn't even manufactured anymore so that's amazing.
Wooow cool stuff man!!! Love that the alien comes almost fully encased, helping keep the “what did the alien look like” mystery alive… it’s crazy how much merchandise was released for this attraction, you don’t really see Disney do that anymore
Wish I could go in there with a 3d scanner and spend a few days or weeks just scanning every prop so they survive.. Its so sad to see them rotting away

You are extremely talented and gifted, and the craftsmanship you put into this project is just mind blowing. Thanks for showing the techniques and process for how you made the bricks for the walls, and I love how the balcony in front of the guest star rooms looks. Truly a fantastic job. Feels more in scale with the show than the set Palisades did. Love the attention to detail, specifically towards the top of the set. Will you make a theater stage to go with it?
I’d love to, however I don’t have space for a set piece that big, so maybe in the future! It’d be an equally big undertaking, with all of its ornate trim, fabric parts, and lighting, but it may happen in the future, should I find a house with more space! Thanks for watching!
I’ve watched this video over and over now, I thought the palisades playset was top notch, but your project is just perfection! and also is a much more accurate scale than the palisades. I was curious with what you used for the brick walling, is it a 2 part epoxy?
Hi Michael, thanks for your comments! I didn’t see the other one until just now and would be happy to share dimensions. You’ve inspired me to do a video update this weekend, and explain in a little more detail what it took to build and how I did it. All the brick detailing is all authentic tiny plaster bricks that I made and laid in by hand. I’ll explain more in my video and show the molds I used to make both the bricks and the doors, which are resin casts.
That would be awesome, every piece of this build is extremely life like! I was just making bricks out of air dry clay, but my method failed immensely as it deteriorated over the course of a month haha. Can’t wait for an in depth video 👍🏻
The lobster Banditos chef is awesome, do you have the classic variant from wave 9? It’s the most simplistic of the 4 that Palisades made, but probably my preferred of them all.
