A channel to share all my hobbies that include backpacking, FPV drone flying (MOSTLY THIS!), hiking, triathlon and other activities. I might even do the occasional review.
It does look really good and the sharpness is my fault. I was messing around with my editing software and forgot to undo it. Caught it after I’d uploaded and decided to just leave it. Nothing changed with the colors. It flies really well, really smooth and also pretty nimble. Check the unstabilzed video I linked for a better idea of how it flies.
@@smithe68 Thank you for the information. Maybe I'll go for the Goggles L and the Gofilm, then I'll at least have a foot in the door😅. Maybe something small for the garden with 1S. Best regards
I just ordered mine from RadioMaster. I can't wait to receive them. However, it says that delivery won't be until early October. Where did you order them to receive them so soon ? 😮
I got mine from Pyrodrone, they do appear to be out of them now though. I think you will really like them once you get yours. Here’s hoping for fast delivery!
Thanks me too. My initial impression is it flys really nice. This flight you see is literally its only flight. I’m going to fly after work today and fly longer with some more space to see what it can do. The camera is pretty fantastic, the FPV experience is as good as O3, 1080P to the eyes is great. My 7” also has the same camera system and the quality of the 4k dvr footage is really good but I’m still learning gyroflow and I’m not great at it so there is that. I haven’t messed with the built in EIS yet but will be soon.
Really impressed with the results on this quad. The overall stabilization and quality of video is amazing. (I’m watching in 1080p) not only that , but the rates seem to be dialed n. Not sure if that was you or the stock tune. Amazing quad, just a little color grading in post and it looks like an O3 if not better!!
Hey, you really replaced every quad, didn't you? Do you have built-in stabilization on Walksnail or do you have to stabilize every video using Gyroflow? I'm thinking about testing the whole thing slowly first with the Goggles L and a tinywhoop, because I really enjoy them, but the analogue image really annoys me. Beste Grüße
Well too be fair, I have a few O3 quads still but they are up for sale or slowly getting converted. I don’t want to have multiple systems. So the moonlight kit in this quad does have built in stabilization but in 2.7k not 4k. I haven’t messed with it yet and have been relying on gyroflow for that. I’m not a fan of gyroflow to be honest but I’m starting to get it figured out. My original plan was to get Goggles L to use for tiny whoops and 1-2S park flyers plus super long range but I figured I would go all in after seeing how good the osd looked in INAV among other things. The tiny 1S (it can take up to 3S) VTX doesn’t have gyro data but gyroflow has camera profiles for it. I’m not sure how to get it to work though, maybe FC gyro data? Still something to learn. Honestly though, just being able to fly indoors or in parks quietly with 1080p to the eyes is amazing!
@@smithe68 Yes, that's always a problem with two different systems, although I now use analog and DJI, of course. I imagine that would be really cool, especially for tinywhoops.1080p is definitely a completely different world compared to analog. I can't wait to try it 😅😅. Best wishes
@@Lazy_SkyWalker that would be compact and quick for putting away but I do like the removable ones as well. It opens up being able to quickly change to various lengths and styles.
@@Lazy_SkyWalker I get that 100%. For a while the pocket was my daily and only controller. It hasn’t been lately but for quads it will be again outside of some long range flying. I have other radios for my fixed wings but can still use the pocket if I want. It’s such a great little radio, at least for me. Good luck with whatever you choose to do!
I want a Crush because I love the color options but I don’t need another radio. I just got back from my first flight with the AG01s, they felt very nice, so smooth!
I've had the Zorro for some time now and love it...These metal gimbals cost more than the Radio...lol...The reason I chose the Zorro is because it has two roller wheels for Pan and tilt....🤔😏😏🇬🇧
@@EnglishTurbines I had the Zorro as well, my hands did not get along with it as much as I had hoped and the battery life was abysmal. $60 gimbals for a $65 radio 😅 Only one roller wheel but I have only been using pan, although I have the equipment to do tilt as well.
@@smithe68 Oh, is that 60 US Dollars each gimbal?....or both?...I'm tempted to buy the AG01s for my Zorro TBH....The standard cells in my Zorro are pretty epic, they last ages...I am using a TBS Module on 868mhz though. It rarely gets off 25mw in dynamic mode....😮😳😏
@@smithe68 Wow, 60 US for the pair sounds a bargain then..I remember paying a similar amount for my Taranis Hall gimbals ages ago....The AG01s are overpriced IMO...🤔😳😳😏😀
@@BigKahunaFPV I will be flying with them after work and will let you know but I suspect they will feel great. I handed my radio to a friend/coworker a little bit ago who also has a pocket and he really liked the feel of them as well.
great flight as always. how ever something felt off. it felt sluggish? like your frame rate was not quite matching. what was your frame rate? it almost felt like it was on 120 fps. in that lighting, if you have it i would suggest a nd 16, or 32. not complaining. it just felt off. but i cant quite put my finger on what the deal is. maybe your bit rate is not high enough. im just spitballing here. i have zero knowledge when it comes to walk snail
@@WhiteTrashFPV thank you. So weird thing I am having is I am recording 4k60 but when putting through Gyroflow it’s wanting to do 24fps. It’s not supposed to make a change but it appears to be. I have an ND8 that came with the camera setup, no others as of yet. I’m still learning that’s for sure! If you saw some of the footage I haven’t bothered to post you would be stunned at how good this is compared to earlier stuff. I’ll get it dialed in soon I hope! Thanks for you input and suggestions as always, it helps me think outside what I would normally do.
@@BigKahunaFPV LOL. Thanks and soonish. Now that I am feeling good about how this quad flies and stuff I am hoping to get out and push the distance a bit with it in the next few days as an after work flight.
The fact that this is your Rekon 7 after the weekend you have had is amazing. Way to get it dialed in! I cant wait to see this on our comparison flights!!
Can you please explain (show or anything) how you connected your Goku FC with the Waksnail 1s Vtx. Because the FC has no Pads but only the HD Plug or? Did you make a custom rewired plug ? Normally on big quads, I plug my Walksnail Vtx and solder the other side direct to the FC to the Pads
Hello, I’ve got mine soldered to pads that my FC has but it actually has the HD plug. For larger quads I have just taken the DJI 6 pin cable and used the 4 wires Walksnail needs and soldered it to the Walksnail cable. I hope that makes sense? This is the FC I have flywoo.net/products/goku-f405-hd-1-2s-elrs-aio-v2
Cut the connector off of the Walksnail Vtx. Find the cluster of pads that has Tx2 and RX2. Solder black->gnd, red->+5v, white->Tx, and gray->Rx. There is no reverse polarity protection, so make extremely sure that you have the red and the black soldered correctly. Ask me how I know.
Gyroflow and I just don't get along. However, I've only tried to stabilize Runcam videos so far. A nightmare😅. Strangely enough, I have jerks on straight stretches where there would be none without stabilization. This Gyroflow is quite mysterious. Best regards 😊
I’ve pretty much disliked Gyroflow from day one, I’ve never gotten even remotely ok footage out of it but I finally got at least something that seems good to me. I know RU-vid messes with it a bit but on my iPad and computer it’s pretty silky smooth. Still not a big fan but I’m slowly figuring it out.
@@BlueSkyDigitalStudios yeah, most of the walksnail setups do but not all. Only this one has built in like an O3 but I’ve not messed with it much yet. Thank you 🙏🏽
Looks like more perfect flying weather again...!!!....lol, ignore me, I'm jealous and sick of our weather😅.....🇬🇧....Something weird going on with the stabilized frame rate, unless it's U Tube....😳😳
@@EnglishTurbines yes we’re having great weather, hot and calm! It was almost 37c here yesterday and same for today. That’s RU-vid, it’s smooth on my iPad and computer.
There was a lot wrong with it. This was its first flight since June of 2023 and I couldn’t even remember what was wrong with it when I last flew it. It was in pieces just a few days ago. I’ve updated Betaflight from 4.3 to 4.5.x, ELRS 50hz preset and a few other things.
@@dragonazzFPV thank you! I bet the build in EIS might work better too now that I have made some adjustments to the configuration. Thanks for being there and giving me some ideas to try out.
@@BigKahunaFPV Yeah, it really is! If I was going to stick with DJI as well, I would go with the Goggles L for just micros but I didn’t want to deal with ordering lenses for them as my close sight isn’t the best. My original plan was to get the L, a few micros and use them for traveling with a Radiomaster Pocket.
That's dope 1s with hd Is worth it. Tiny drones are a different beast I feel like they show you everything you do good and mistakes. The jitters where small and not really noticeable but you could try running it through gryoflow. If anything you have convinced me to switch from dji. I was already on the fence. But this was awesome
@@WhiteTrashFPV I think it will help me get smoother because of that. It’s so worth it though, I am floored at how good it looks coming from such a tiny little quad. Surprisingly smooth for how small it is. I am going to try that but with no gyro data who knows how it will come out. There is a profile in there for the nano that someone made so it might do a bit but honestly it looks pretty good and the most important thing is being able to fly quiet, in small spaces and just have a good time! I’ve been thinking about the change for a while and this really has made me feel much better about it. Look forward to seeing what you do and how much you like it! As always, thanks for stopping by, commenting and just generally chatting.
@@WhiteTrashFPV no gyro data to work from so Gyroflow crashes every time I try to sync the video. Lumafusion has one built in, I’m going to see what it can do
@@smithe68 the litle bit of research i just did told me, that there is no gyro flow data. least for the Walksnail Avatar HD Mini 1S Lite camera. i dont know why its crashing.
@@WhiteTrashFPV yeah I didn’t find anything either. I think the one option is to use gyro data from the FC black box. I may try that in the future but honestly I didn’t get it to get perfect video for uploading, I got it for crystal clear video for flying enjoyment. Thanks for looking!
@smithe68 to be honest I don't fully think it should be necessary for a tiny quad. For your Explorer I think it's worth it. But I'm assuming both you would using the moonlight and it has gyro data
Now that"s what I am talking about. Nice to fly in the house with A/C on sitting in your easy chair an set the quad right out side the door an send it. Dont let every one no , then they will not be stock. Thumbs up
@@hobbyhowiefpv219 It’s so great! I need to pick up a small 1S whoop as well for indoors and not breaking props 😅 Exactly that or in the winter when it’s crazy cold, sit inside in the warmth! Yeah, don’t want everything to sell out but also want it to do well so improvements keep happening and more manufacturers provide BNF quads, compatible frames, etc. Thanks and happy flying!
