About me: Hey, I’m Mark, An American who flew off to Japan with the U.S. military 34 years ago where I fell in love with exploring new places, meeting new people, and embarking on new adventures and I never looked back. For many years I beat the 40 hour a week drum with the dream of taking off on a walkabout or bike ride with my backpack, laptop, and camera wherever my flip flops take me. In January 2023 the dream came true when I quit my job and became a tourist :)

Another great video of the Kanchanaburi area with all the ancient history. Brought back great memories of the very memorable 3 days there . Been eating it for years,,, you’re right the liquid in the little plastic packet isn’t vinegary it’s more light soy sauce with a little bit of ponzu or citrusy flavor

Hey, apparently Vietnam does not recognize international drivers permit… The one I got does not have the Vietnam translation so I guess that’s why they don’t accept it?…
I don’t think it has to do with the language on the license, I think it has to do with countries like the US and Australia, who have never set up a reciprocal international driving agreement with Vietnam

I read a big thread on that yesterday. It says you need to buy your ticket at the station so you can let them know you have a bike then show up 30 mins early to put it in freight. They also said not all trains have freight but most do. You can call 1690 for English assistance or confirmation anytime.

Compiling the whole trip into one certainly does add to the entire trip and put everything into prospective. Can watch then go back to the day by day videos . That is great. As I keep saying - they are getting better and better and anxious to see what the next adventure /videos will bring. Thanks for sharing all these which I am sure encourages others
