I wonder if an old T16000m gimbal without the spring would be a good base for it. You could even run the wires for the buttons directly into the grip's existing wires.
So the trick with that alps PCB is to connect directly to the VCC pin on the debolestis PCB that is used for the 5 pin mini din connector. I would like to design a new PCB that has a bespoke spot specifically for that alps 5-way.
@@thesimnet the top of the trigger mod keeps breaking. The walls are too thin. I’ve printed like 10 so far. I have used both pla and pegt no luck. I’ve tried so Many different settings. If you re enforce it just a little bit I believe it will work better
You should do the grip handle from a OV-1C Mohawk. That was the joystick that the TV show Battlestar Galatica used for the Viper of original series in 1978. I bet a lot of collectors of the show would love to have that!
Hi, I only subscribed last week and just printed your ‘new grip’ prior to this one last week, I had planned to paint it but it came out beautifully. I was able to mod the thumb and pinky switch housings to hold a 12mm tactile switch with the button off a cheap Alixpress push switch so really happy with the feedback (I fly VR). Just waiting on some 5 way switches as I intend to add a hat to the thumb. Really impressed this is free, and you’ve done a fantastic job in the design. The only comment is maybe add some version control summary/ description to your designs, I struggled with all the trigger options for example. Many thanks
some voice lines feel like it could have been lower pitched but honestly? very cool i like it im sure "somewhere" down the line we will have a female voice for jester i heard somewhere on the forums ED isn't exactly opposed to idea. they just aren't gonna do it for the moment
Looking forward to print and build your f-5 flight stick design and making the trigger this way. One question regarding the spring though, how many degrees should it have? 60, 90, 120, 180?
I hate to be this guy. But I have a question, I haven't looked through the files too much yet. Is there a version with the extra push button extending from the right side like the Cobra or the UH60L?
Great project man! Do you think it would be possible to wire a shock motor like the one found on xbox controllers to the board? I was thinking about having recoil with the trigger push
I have not tried this personally as I am not familiar with motors and the voltages they require. Theoretically yes, but it may require a different/updated pcb etc. Definitely a stretch goal of mine to integrate somehow!
Great videos! Really good job! Where can I find (or buy) the gerber files to order 5way PCB (in order to work with Alps switches) , are you selling the pcb or the only way is directly with pcb way or similar.? I just Bought Alps switches, Now I am looking for the pcb Greetings!
Great video, quick question. So, is anyone using team or section tactics or is it mostly 1v Whatever? I ask because you seem to be spending a good amount of time scraping MiG's off of friendly's tails.
