I think if an unknown older man walked in today for an entrance test in a music school or choir and sang like this, a whole rain of critical remarks would follow?? I know that little world. Si. Está bajada solo un semitono, pero a este señor se le llama "El catedrático" del canto y el mejor tenor verdiano del siglo XX, por lo que, si le corresponde esa categoría, no debería bajar las arias de tono. Corelli y Del Mónaco, a veces, también lo hacían.

Bergonzi was a REALLY Fine Tenor!!! Fine musician as well , always doing his best to stay true to the scores of the great composers music he was singing. That is one of the definitions of Artistry, as a singer! This rendition is really fine and smooth and does honor to the beautiful music Puccini wrote! Enough said!
