Very cute! I found a giant paper wall calendar, my hubby brought home from work, to use. I ended up gluing it, after folding, so that I could leave a pocket to collect ephemera in, for the month. So fun! TFS❤
I enjoy creating art. Recently, I revisited a journal entry from two years ago and noticed that my art has improved since then. I particularly enjoy using my art to tell stories, as it helps me tap into my creativity. As an older retired RN BSN, I've always had a knack for drawing and painting. Now, I use art as a way to maintain my sanity, haha!❤
Ciao, ho pubblicato il tuo video su un mio gruppo privato di facebook dove tratto argomenti di creatività per stare bene e superare ansia e stress. Grazie per questo tuo video molto interessante. Sarà spunto per nuove idee creative.
This video was really speaking to me. I started making junk journals last November 2023. At the time, I was feeling exactly what you expressed in the video. After almost 25 years of teaching, every day I questioned what I had done staying so long and why. At this point, I'm still not past it. I'm on summer break now just trying to enjoy every precious fleeting moment. Whenever I think about the end of summer, I just replace the dreaded thoughts with something creative, even if it's watching a video. I came by your videos through the mini field notes books episodes 1, 2 and 3. I, too, want to ✍🏽 children's books. In fact, I have a finished book without illustrations just sitting on a shelf. I say that we both just go for it!!! ❤😊
Love getting into the creative flow and not overthinking:) Sweet book pages and fabric bits. Like thinking about themes and stories from what happens on the page. Found my bigger papers, and working on backgrounds, thanks Gina!
Thanks Gina! Going to prep some papers and look forward to making some of these following your series:) Think I would like to find larger paper, maybe a grocery bag or Kraft paper...
🔆I’m super excited about this project idea!!! Just off the top of my head I think I’m going to do a booklet for each immediate family member, including myself. Sort of like a mini scrapbook of special memories and/or events of each person. I love your idea of overall goals to work on throughout. And then if it goes well, and as I have time, I can expand to other members of my family. The ideas are already swirling around!!!👍🏼😁
So happy your back! I love your junk journals and the use of children's books. I have almost no knowledge of art techniques, but I would like to learn. I sew and I'm new to the junk journal world! It does capture my imagination and I have hordes of stuff. ❤
Love this epic fail! Lol. I have tried to do the 100-day project SEVERAL times and I, too, only made it a few days. Not enough hours in the day sometimes. Lol. LOVED these little journals- will definitely follow along and would like to make a dozen, I’ve already picked a theme 😊 I’ve followed you for years, you have inspired me so much in my own creative journey!! Thank you Gina- looking forward to seeing what’s next!
You set some lofty goals! I love the field guides! Book 5 is beautiful! I love them all. You didn’t fail. I heard the excitement in your voice as you went through each booklet. The booklets were the project! I love that on some level you celebrated your success! Sometimes the lesson isn’t what we think it will be.
This was quite a productive failure! I loved the small format and your idea behind each book - sounds like fun and I'd love to join in... I better get thinking. Thanks for sharing ❤
Love these! I think we can all relate to starting a project with good intentions but not finishing! Love the idea of starting with base pages that are not blank! Would love to see how you made these! I'm in the process of making a mixed media junk journal. Hopefully I finish it and not add it to my to be completed pile! 😂
I have made field guide journals, but these are ADORABLE! I would just stick these out in my little free library and let people take one! Would LOVE to see your "how to" video!!! I would do a nature theme, a children's book pages theme, and an explorer theme. Is that watercolor paper?
These are gorgeous, amazing, inspiring! And E=mc2 made me remember this: You matter! Unless you multiply yourself by the speed of light squared... Because then you energy.
Love the container and small notebooks you made! I have not done any paper crafting for months as I opened a small booth in an antique store where I sell some vintage and antique pieces, but the majority of my stock is handmade pillows, table runners, and bags created from rescued quilts. In addition to that, I am now volunteering at a sweet quilt shop near me. I really need to make some small books like yours that will help me focus on tasks but also push me to make creative time for myself, not just for my small businesses...As always, you are an inspiration!
Wow! First of all…I think your booth sounds like a dream come true! Second, a quilt shop has got to be THE best place to volunteer. And lastly, I would LOVE for you to join me in making some fun little booklets.
Love these little science journals, and how you're updating your 100 day project, Gina! Interested in trying some, look forward to your video. Possibly observing what's in my own backyard... they look very fun to make:) Congrats on your retirement! I'm currently teaching, but not too far away from mine. TFS:)
Thank you! Right now my retirement feels like work on account of my new puppy. Your time will get here sooner than you think. I love the idea of backyard observations! I hope you join me.
I really love the cover of #5. These would be awesome as monthly notebooks. I would probably put a pocket in each one, to hold anything I wanted to journal, later. Journal Collection Kits😊
Hi , What an absolutely beautiful journal xx I felt so much comfort & so cosy looking through your art xx I loved the colours and textures xx thank you for sharing it with us xx felt so inspired xx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on your retirement, Gina! So glad to see that you’re back. You give us so much inspiration from your journals you create. I love my journal from you. Looking forward to your Etsy shop opening up. Love and Blessings ❤️😘🤗💕
My problem is simply confidence. I’m constantly so scared that I’m going to mess up what I’m supposed to be creating that it’s like I’m just frozen. Once I get started, I’m usually good. By the end, I’m typically more relaxed and happy with whatever I’ve created. I give myself pep talks and keep telling myself things like “it’s just paper” , “ no one else has to see it” or “it’s just for fun.” But I find it still takes me quite a while to relax and just have fun. Especially if it’s something new I’m trying. I’m working on it. encouragement from people like you truly does help - thanks so much!!!😁
❤SO HAPPY to see you again!!!❤ I can’t believe I’ve missed all these videos since you’ve been back. CONGRATULATIONS on retirement…well deserved I’m sure! I follow you for many reasons, but first and foremost it boils down to INSPIRATION. Like using book covers to art on as stand alone pieces - I never would have thought of that. And what’s sad is that I have several book covers just being dust collectors. Well, not anymore!!! Thank you😁 I also love the way you encourage us all. It’s so inspiring/encouraging for you to tell us and show us that we can do it too. As far as what I’d like to see…whatever you’re working on! I most enjoy the videos that you talk through, so we get to hear your thought processes as you create. I don’t know why I find that so helpful, but I do. Once again, I’m super excited you’re back. Now I’m going to binge watch until I get caught up😂❤
@@deborahdettor1694 oh Deb, you always know how to make me smile! I cannot wait to get this next chapter started. So many ideas twirling through my brains Thank you so much! You are a gem.
