"Every Artist was first an amateur" - Emerson My take - "Every Artist was first terrible" When we drew a picture as a child, our mom loved it. Remember the feelings we had when our art was appreciated? I encourage you to never give up, you are guaranteed to succeed. That's how it works!!!!
You are spot on regarding the use of the deburring tool. Bracing with your thumb/hand, pulling the tool and not using a lot of pressure are key to doing a smooth pull to remove material evenly. I just started doing resin and was thinking about using my deburring tool to clean up those raised edges and your video helped me decide to go ahead with it. From my experience with the tool on other things (usually metal) if you have good small round holes with no waves in them, you can just hold the tool in the air and 'gently' rotate the tool inside the hole --- metal needs higher pressure but the resin removes better with a lighter pressure. Also it doesn't work well in small sharp angles so I've used a light grit sandpaper (600 grit or a bit higher). Thanks for making the video.
Don't remember all the names of each glitter, but here are some of the glitter companies I use..... AB glitter, Maestra Creations, Glitter Chimp, Nicole Marret, Peachy Olive, Miss Lou, Art Glitter ( has glitter glue and cosmetic glitter) Zindee ( vinyl, also ) there's a few glitter shops on Etsy. Look around and see what appeals to you.
So, this is not knitting like a real sock machine? Not sure if it is knitting, but would be good for an inventor to create one, like the one shown; a flat round machine that can actually knit
Cool! I made a needle stopper because I am a beginner and it does help! I live in Bucks County, PA and am curious where did you find classes to take? I have the LK150 and a bulky Knit King, which is the same as the Brother bulky 260.
Mostly, I'm learning from youtube videos. There was a knitting store on Glenside, PA but they closed a few years ago. A machine knitters group met there once a month and I saw ths LK150 in work. I purchased a few machine knitting tools from a person in Bucks cty. about 3 years ago, but can't remember who that was. She gives classes, too. I'll get back to when I find the contact info.
Thank you for this great tutorial! It's just what I needed. I bought a deburring tool for my resin projects about 3 months ago, but have been hesitant to use it.. not even sure how to hold it properly. Just watched your video though, and now I feel ready! Hallelujah! Thanks so much! 💖
If you hold the resin edge lower on the tool, it won't rotate as much. You may want to use a craft knife, but I find that it's a bit sharp and the danger of slicing your fingers is imminent. Sometimes I wear lightweight shop gloves or leather shop gloves even when using the deburring tool - protect your fingers. There are many brands of deburring tools; so maybe there are some that don't rotate. I like the one I'm using in the video and it works for me.
Thank you so much! I'm about to pour my first time and really want to use my kitchen torch, so I don't have to worry about air bubbles, but everything says not to. But what you said makes total sense, and now I feel confident doing it following your instructions.
Great info and thank you for sharing! Just started epoxy coating my first batch of airbrushed fishing lures. No paint problems prior but a bunch of fisheye spots and ripples in a few of them once epoxied. Very easy to recognize the shortcomings with all the reasons you gave.
Very much appreciated! I thought I covered all the bases and yet I still got horrible dimpling and fisheyes! It’s definitely the humidity. Very helpful info. Thank you!!
I just added more Power-Tac to the purple cradle and it's holding very well. Adding a hefty amount of glue will help it last longer. Thanks for watching!
