Hey all new and returning subscribers! Welcome to my channel where it is full off horsey antics and lifestyle style type vlogs. I am based in the beautiful county of Cornwall, England along with my two horses Sprite and Addie. I am keen amateur eventer, the word "amateur" originated as a French word, meaning "lover of," not "expert" and as you'll see I have a huge passion for everything horses and eventing ☺️ xx
Great result for you and Addie, and really interesting hearing Alicia and Cams thoughts on your dressage and showjumping. I would continue with your 90 on Addie next week and 100 on Banksy...then maybe do the next event at 100 with Addie when you only have to concentrate on 1 horse ❤ Well done xxx
Thank you! Yeah really interesting and a great way to learn too. Ooo might have done the opposite of that 🙈😂 keep your eyes peeled for the next vlog xx
Love the commentary!! So great to have all the expertise and tuition on your vlogs. Super well ridden for all phases, and good luck for the next one. I would personally do banksy in the 100 due to the experience he has and wanting to qualify. But you could easily do Addie too! Good luck
Congratulations on placing third!!! 🎉 Well deserved; both you and Addy were phenomenal! I agree with the general consensus that you and Addy could EASILY move up to BE 100. If you are eventing Addy AND Banksy, I’d do Addy in the 100 bc you know her so well, and have that partnership. I’d do Banksy in the 90. Of course we all know Banksy is more than capable of doing the 100, I personally would want to take my OWN horse is the more difficult class and ride my friend’s horse in an easier class just bc I know I don’t know my friend’s horse as well, that I haven’t spent the thousands of hours training and competing my friend’s horse as I have with my own. But you might be bolder than I am, in which case I’d take them both in the 100 if that’s allowed. Not an eventer, so I don’t know the rules on that. Whatever you decide, I’m sure you’ll do great! This comment is much later than planned, bc I actually rewatched it several times, especially the cross country footage bc you and Addy made it look a breeze and SO much fun. I’m in the U.S. and have ridden and competed in Hunter/jumpers for three decades now (schooled to 1.20m show jumping but only competed up to 1.15m), but have developed an interest in eventing over the last few years thanks to following you and your friends. Probably silly to try an even MORE potentially dangerous equine sport at age 47, but who knows?😅. Anyway, congrats again. Great video, and loved the commentary on your dressage and SJ!❤
I am in the U.S., and I am SO jealous that you riders have so many hacking lanes and all the wide open fields available for “fun” rides! I own a boarding and training stable (don’t know if you all would call it a “yard” or “livery”) out in a pretty rural area of my state. I sort of did that on purpose- it was important to me to have a large enough property to have LOTS of pasture space for turning the horses out. However, even in this more rural area, we have nothing like you have. I hope you are able to keep all of those lovely hacking trails and the picturesque “fun ride” areas. Just had to pause to say that. Now I’m going to watch the rest of the video! (And possibly plan some sort of UK riding vacation❤)
Same here! Some isolated areas do have trails and rights of way, like Hunterdon County, NJ but I think it's quite rare overall. Nothing like in the UK! So jealous!!!
Addie is looking great! You can see your partnership really starting to click 😊❤ feel like she’s maturing and she absoloutely loves her job! You guys will go strength to strength as she grows up ❤
Looks great Em! I'd definitely do Addie in the 100, since we know Banks is fine either way, and he's going to keep fitness/outing mode activated, and its not a "proper" run competition wise for him, it doesn't really matter which one he does, aaand I know you know him, but riding horses that aren't your main one, is always harder mentally, so the easier elements of each phase will give you a break in that respect. Just my little Aussie opinion, either way, good luck!!
I had the same thought as you! I would rather do the more difficult level on my own horse that I’ve ridden and competed and I’m used to how my horse goes. Riding a friend’s horse in a competition seems much scarier, so I’d want to compete him lower (of course, I’m not as bold as I used to be😅)
what is this with time penalties if you have a faster time than minimum time for cross country? Both your horse and Banksy are fast horses and you are riding normally and you don't push your horses but you take your time and read the fences and you know how to ride and jump the fences. I know that they set a minimum and maximum time for the course but it does not seem like that they think that there is a possibility that there can be horses that are naturally fast and you do not rush to jump the fences but you take the time you need, but still both of your horses are riding fast when you ride.
Loved the special guest voice over 😊well done , Addie is growing up and doing so well. So lovely you and your mum noticing the little wins with her 🧡🇦🇺
In regards to next week, I would suggest Banksy at 100 as it will keep Tina's training going for them to return and stay at 100. And, yes, I agree with everyone that Addie and you are more than ready to step up to 100. I can also see you both ending up going 2* in the future. Addie is the perfect horse and you were so blessed when Fred had you in mind for her. So, hearty congratulations on coming 3rd and I can't wait to see more from your partnership in the future. 😊
Great result, Addie looks more than capable and would easily go round the 100, is the dressage test the same for both? Good luck whichever way you decide 🎉😂 xx
51:24 awesome and fabulous indeed👏👏 made it look easy. You should be pleased ma’am with Addie and yourself. Loved Nala with stick ready to herd cows 🐾 🧡 can’t wait to see you on a patchy gentleman
Hi em, I have a question! I’m returning to riding after a 5 year break and severe loss of confidence. With the rideathon, does it need to be hacking? I’m not yet confident enough to hack x
