Karuna is a Brisbane-based charity established to help people live a meaningful and happy life while embracing uncertainty and change.

Life is our most precious possession, its loss our most difficult yet inescapable experience. Karuna believes that having the skills and support to face the challenges and uncertainty can make the journey easier.

As a result, we have developed models of care and education which help people understand, prepare for and face the end of life with calm and acceptance.

His Holiness is brutally honest about himself. "I don't really know whether my own preparations are satisfactory." He doesn't seem to be particularly worried about it, however. It seems he places himself at the bottom of the three levels of practitioner. Die without regret, die without fear ("reluctance", in his case), die with joy. Great yogis can traverse the after-death states in their minds, long before they die, and attain the highest realization - die with joy. It just takes far more meditation and yogic techniques than HH has been able to practice in this life. I guess, barring some possible major breakthrough in neuroscience etc. (research that the Dalai Lama supports), most of us will have to be content with no regrets.

Maybe someone on here can respond to this. I'm an atheist so I appreciate his addressing end of life reflection from the perspective of atheists and theists alike. I appreciate that it's helpful to the individual theist (or deist) to believe that something has happened due to God's plan. But I also feel that it prevents humans from doing their own problem solving. For instance, what human actions could be preventing unnecessary suffering/death? Will people who believe in God's plan (e.g., for a child's molestation and murder) take time to reflect on how such actions can be prevented? What they as adults can do here now to prevent such unnecessary suffering? So I guess what I'm asking the Dalai Lama (or other teachers out there) to address is this question: can belief in God's plan be harmful, if not for the individual believer, then for society? and society's vulnerables?

I can see how that might be the case. However, most theists don't think suffering is okay and therefore do nothing about it. Christianity, Islam and Judaism have historically been very socially active in helping the poor, the sick, the vulnerable. When suffering does happen, they may justify it by saying it is God's plan, and therefore find meaning in it, in order to reduce their suffering. But they don't continue to allow the suffering if they can do anything about it. Buddhism is different. It teaches the laws of karma, which is simply cause and effect, just at the most complex level. Suffering in this life is a result of negative actions in this or past lives. But there is no judgement or blame involved. Karma is just a cosmic law, like gravity. Buddhism takes an agnostic stance on whether there is a creator God or not. The closest Buddhism gets to this is that it says there is a primordial consciousness that precedes and gives rise to space and time and all created things, karma included. Hinduism is like this too. Despite all of its deities, Hinduism posits that all the deities are manifestations of primordial consciousness.

This is one of the reasons I love His Holiness. He has no faith in astrology. Right there with you, Mr! haha!!

He's pretty grounded considering how esoteric Tibetan Buddhism is. He dialogues with a lot of scientists, such as, regarding this topic, near-death researchers (to scientifically examine the Tibetan claims regarding after-death states), and neuroscientists, to see if they can unlock the secrets of enlightenment from the perspective of the brain.

I met this doctor on RU-vid called Dr Alaho Olu , i got in contact with him and ordered for his (ALS) disease herbal medicine. I used it for 21days. All of a sudden I just got my test result and it's negative. I went to another hospital to get retested to be sure and it is still negative. I am so excited today that I am cured…

*I read Cory's book on her dying. She describes 'consciousness' as the point of becoming YOU: as a bird will fly from an approaching person, or a retreating snail upon touch. She thinks these things are 'consciousness' - they're NOT. They're 'merely' instinctual - a MASSIVE difference*

Are you able to provide more info on those morning meditations, or even just some pointers? I am struggling with stress/burnout/grief as a healthcare worker right now and I am struggling to find relevant meditations or any kind of information for the mental health of healthcare workers.
