Not a baugua practioner as such, but I recognise the shapes, lines, curves you have created so clearly. Lots of interesting things going on in such simple moves.
I was also studying Hung Fut with grandmaster Tai Yim when he had school in Wheaton, MD. I remember practicing with when we were students during the mid 1980s. So great to see you stick with this and you are awesome and a great guy
Bruh, using a single form is actually effective af.. I mean, I only use the first form of wing chun and just some few footwork and It works pretty great for me..
Get ready to have your legs ACHE like hell. Well worth it. I've read where back in the day they'd just teach form collectors the flashy forms but with held Xiao Baji.
I never got to meet SiGung Lam, so it's videos like this that provide invaluable insight into who he was as a person and a martial artist. Thank you for posting this!
Really appreciate shīfù Mancuso explaining at the elemental or building block level! What helped me is learning about acupuncture point LI 10 (Shousanli) “Arm Three Li” and messaging that point. I had been straining my wrist by not rotating my elbow enough. Great to see the elbow - and waist - rotation so clearly here!
Simply excellent. Thank you. I'm always amazed and inspired by the multivalent potential in the principles of these arts that when properly understood and practiced, become life arts. This kind of teaching/understanding seems so rare these days at a time when there are myriad techniques to bedazzle and impress the practitioner although good, have little in the way of coherent principle. I do not mean to disparage anyone in saying this. My skills are meager but perhaps just enough to appreciate what is being taught here. Again thank you.
very informative thanks a lot. Every time i want to inquire about something you have a new video on it it almost feels like you are doing this just for me lol
Ted! I've been a fan (and Plumpub customer!) for years, it's great seeing your activity here on RU-vid. Your movement and mechanics are masterful. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your actually right, choy li fut is rather easy to learn and apply, but the same can be said for lion roar kung fu,,, both choi li fut and lion roar have somewhat similar techniques, like arrow fist, backfist, stamping fist, and shovel hand...
