Hmmmm. If we're going beyond basic things like communicate well with your team mates, something specific I would say people lack as far as attacking goes are coordinated attacks. Make distracting attacks in one place and attack in another. Use Siege Towers in assaults to widen the flank. A tip for both sides is to know when to pull back units/retreat. Saving your units, even in the heat of battle is sometimes a better option than letting them die in battle for no gain. For defenders, being aggressive with horse archers vs important attacker tents is good as long as you keep them alive. Defenders should also be more situationally aware and not defend every single point, they should use light cavalry more to find out where the enemy is going to attack. There's more tips, but this is turning into a long list.
@@kingseirios4277 It is actually pretty hilly, hard to see that ingame, though can't build on elevation changing ground so I noticed as player Dominykas ingame.
this looks really cool, i wonder how it feels to be there. tbh im a person who doesnt like to be in a huge crowd, but at same time i do enjoy such events
There was some space at the back and sides that were a little less dense, where someone who isn't a big fan of crowds could feel more comfortable. As far as crowds go, though, it was super hot and humid. She started the concert with a suit jacket on but needed to take it off because she was so warm. Someone passed out at this concert and Marie stopped Dead Girl in the Pool halfway through to make sure they were getting attention. The whole concert though was an amazing time. So many smiling faces and insane energy.
That wasn't even the first time she'd stopped the show because she thought a person got hurt. Earlier, she had stopped the concert because she saw someone waving urgently in the crowd, then resumed once she learned it was just a fan looking for her friend.
Hey! I really like this mod, I was wondering if there was a Discord where you organize those or something? I'd love to try my hand at it, even if I'll probably be bad the first few time(s).
Hey! We do have a discord community, it's in the description! New players are always welcome! I'm thinking of making a few videos specifically to help new players get into the game quicker 😁
@@mike.quiblat I'm really amazed at what can be done using the scenario editor alone! I knew there were some tricks that could be done by editting the map files externally, but had no idea of how far one could go with just scenarios and no other data/asset modifications! For starters, I'm intrigued about how you managed to use actual arrow trajectories to determine hits...
@@CRC.Mismatch yeah it's really cool how powerful the in-game editor can be without editing the scenario files directly! I only use the genie editor to find IDs, not for the actual value editing. Luckily there are a couple Discord servers purely dedicated to AOE2 mods and a lot of people have knowledge there. I'm talking about Aoe Hellhole and Age of Mods, which are actually going to merge soon!
Best choice of music (and it took me a while to understand WHY I suddenly felt an urge to play Medieval 2 Total War again)! Just out of curiosity, is that the actual in-game music by the mod, or is it just overlayed externally during recording/editing?
@@ifAEGIS Yup! A lot of time! If you look at my mods page, i've made a few other maps and I took concepts from those other scenarios and put it into this one. I have an older version that's much less realistic called "Siege of Jerusalem". Glad you like it! Go to Hermetica clan discord, or message me and we can play sometime!
Congratulations, complex and functional mechanics, great editor design, could easily be another game. I played and didnt know how to play it correctly, but its really impressive.
Oh thanks man! Yeah, the first game can be a huge shock 🤯 but if you can get past that, especially with how ranged units behave (inaccurate, minimum range, realistic projectile collision, attack ground, friendly fire, dumb at night time) then it can be a really fun and rewarding experience!
There are very good map making communities on discord in Age of Mods and Aoe Hellhole servers. They are merging soon though, so I don't know what the new name will be. All I learned about map making came from those two servers.
I enjoy your commentary over these games; it is quite enjoyable to listen to while watching the game play out. I've got a question for you, how long did it take for you to create the 'Kingdom of Heaven' scenario from start to finish?
So about 3 years ago I exported my janky AOE2 HD Siege of Jerusalem map to AOE2 DE and worked on it for about a year and a half. I then had the idea to change the mechanics into what you see today under a different name "Kingdom of Heaven". Since I already had a pretty good base to work with as far as the terrain, I just had to redo the buildings and triggers. All in all, this new version I estimate started about 4.5 months ago, start to finish.
