Very Inspiring material, As musician and interpreter I can tell that there a close relationship between delivering a message through Linguistic Language and Musical Language. I always thought so as an Irish speaker who briefly learned a bit of Dutch for when I am on holidays in the Netherlands and Belgium, to me Dutch sounds like an Irish speaker trying to read something that is in German 😂
It's amazing to see what the well-trained are capable of achieving. I can only imagine the stress levels in anticipation of the jury's decision. The ability to simultaneously listen, assimilate and note the ideas is amazing, and the self-control when rendering the message is another area to develop... I want to be like that when I grow up. I started working as an online interpreter a month ago and I'm often wondering whether I am actually doing justice to the messages. I take notes somewhat efficiently BUT I am constantly having people who struggle to make sense or don't want to give info so they just mumble their way through, and this stresses me and I don't know what to do. SO I'm watching this vid to see if I can find a solution =)
The teachers at my school could have easily taught us this. Most feared interpreting at least to a certain degree, because we wrote down words / transcripts some of us couldn't decipher anymore when we had to interpret. They literally taught us NO strategy at all. Absolutely pathetic "education" system here in Germany!
