Walking on the side that bicycles circulate! LOL! If a jitensha hits you, it is you who would be guilty and will be slapped with a fine. Walk on the side of pedestrians. Watch that detail; many japanese city streets have this dual system.
I used to live in Yokkaichi. Everything here is still recognizable. I wish you walked through the shotengai as well. I always enjoyed walking through and seeing all the shops. Super good indian curry place in there as well.

The walk/video much appreciated. Unfortunately a extremely generic example of Tsudanuma. A block walk. Hit the back alleys & side streets were the fun begins. Bars, restaurants etc lots of mom & pop shops… Tsudanuma is actually fun for nightlife as well. Try exploring off the beaten paths.
