For the sole reason many Australian and European sellers won’t ship to North America, I wish somebody had a real PAL 1.40 file easily available online for the purpose of making a CD-R copy or something like it. I found 5 without even trying on eBay Germany but none will ship to me and I don’t want to risk a handoff service.
Does anyone know if PAL 1.40 and PAL 1.60 have different matrix codes on the underside of the disc? It’s the same code we use here in NTSC land to differentiate the 4 different versions of San Andreas released on PS2.
Also, every stunt jump is faster in ntsc or pal 1.60, basically every versions available of the game except 1.40 And the turismo mission has way big checkpoints in pal 1.40
nice but are you sure 1.60 PAL version that was released had blue police cars in intro? Since i do have the german cover with 50330/EURO which is the 1.40 and that is one supposed to have them not the later version, but correct me if im wrong :)
PAL 1.40 version has many uniques features that all other versions don't have, everything is in the video. Not to mention the rarity of finding them on the market
@@Majin13PS3i am honestly shocked a bit how rare they are afterall. I went ebay and i couldnt find 1?? Just for sale no matter price. I bought my gta 3 locally, texted guy once and never got answer, it was stil for sale 3 months later, texted again and he replied and got it, i think all in all was 15$ with shipping

On the disc, SLES50330/UK is 1.40, SLES50330/EURO can be 1.40 or 1.60, all others ( and those with the # at the end ) are 1.60. To be sure you have to check the file SYSTEM.CNF of your game on the computer.
@@Majin13PS3 Cool Thanks Spotted a couple non# Euro Copies of the German Version for 10€-12€ guess I order one then Even though I'm German my only PS2 copy is a UK copy I bought on a trip lol
@@Majin13PS3 Just bought a German copy on eBay for 9,60€ with /Euro no # Sadly only map no manual Hopefully I can get one cheap someday German copies seem to be the best bet for 1.40 if most /EURO non# have it Saw at least 4 or 5 copies right now (Most will probably not ship outside Germany though)

You can if you do the ambulance missions thrice (three times) - I think this is not a bug but a mistake and that you originally would have to do the ambulance sidemission on each island instead of one time to reach level 12 like firefighter and vigilante - maybe on one island you could unlock sprint for 20 patients saved, on the other you could get the pill and the final would give you the medkit @@mauriciominicuci6544
What about the "dead dodo" flight path, checkpoint collecting sound, "Her Lover mission from Marty Chonks, the scene where 8-Ball tells you to get $100.000? Did you try to get 100% completion of the game?
My personal theory over this difference is that PC is using mix of assets - beta audio for the these two cutscenes but rest of it is based on 1.60 version from PS2. Developers just forgot to fix it, probably.
So weird that they used GTAIII as the title for German and Finnish, considering R* states and requests in the E3 press kit, that when speaking of the game, refer to it as "Grand Theft Auto 3" and not the acronym "GTA"
They used the GTAIII logo for the German and French version because of the censorship, for the Finnish version ( as for the Spanish and Italian ones ), maybe they were also afraid of censorship.. Also, I think that saying "GTA" in their languages may be easier and appropriate. It's like in France, saying "GTA" is easier, faster and it sounds good. Saying "Grand theft Auto" sounds difficult if we don't know how to pronounce it. It could also be these reasons as among others.
@@Majin13PS3 As a German That may be a pretty good reason actually In German you can easily mispronounce it I think I remember a lot of people saying "Theft" with a hard German T sound instead of the proper soft T the Th Sound can be a easy slip up for Germans

I didn't know there was some alternative dialogue in 'The Exchange' or that the SPANK crazed addicts in 'Kingdom Come' originally were called suicide bombers - which they obviously are - So cool that after 20+ years I still discover new things about one of my favourite games, thank you!
